Ford F350
#12
Yea, that are pretty sweet trucks but let me give you the real low down. Our family business is building cell phone towers which means we pull some serious trailers. We had/have 5 Ford F-350, crew cab, Power Stroke, 4x4, with 5th wheel hitches, they are nice. I've got one set up for pulling the big daddy trailer and it has intake, 4" full exhaust, and a chip with a flat bed on the back.
However, EVERY SINGLE one has had all the injectors go out at 100K - 105K miles.....you know how much it cost to have the injectors replaced??? You dont want to know. Also the rear rotors cost $750 on a F-350 and they are a dealer item which means your paying that much no matter where you go. I've also had the trans go out in 2 of them.
In 2002 we decided to trade 2 of them in for Chevy 3500's with the new Duramax and Allison trans combo. We did this after my dad bought one personally to pull his RV (which is a monster of a RV). At a redlight sitting at idle he can take his foot off the brake and without even giving it gas just a idle it will start moving forward....WITH THE 45" RV that has 3 pull outs and weights about 12000lbs dry!!!!!
After that we had to test them out with the company. Let me tell you what man, those 3500 chevy's are about 10x nicer trucks than the F350's, dont believe the specs cause they dont tell you everything. Those trucks will out pull, out handle, and just anything else you want to do. I've got stories I could talk all day about. I have 3 employees that are totally DIE HARD ford guys (I'm pretty nutral myself), and they have switched to the other team after driving those 3500's
They are AMAZING trucks!!!
