I'm not 100% sure, but I thought one of the many advantages of a rotary engine was it's ability to run on different fuels - I will be corrected soon if I'm wrong anyway.

Also just cause old Fiats may not be suitable for a daily driver, don't rule out all old cars, some of them are reiable and the older simpler engines would be handy if you're lookin to mess around with different fuels.

i'm talking about spending around 500 bucks for a car. just something that runs, and is carburated so it will be easy to convert to ethanol (does anyone know how to convert a car thats fuel injected to ethanol?). so it wouldnt take but 6 or 7 months for the car to pay for itself.

other cars come to mind?
Oh well if that's the case, what about an AE86 SR5? Came with the 4A-C carby 1.6, good mileage as it is, convert to ethanol and it would be practically free. Plus when you're done with it you can sell it to a wannabe drifter for more than you paid (not me, some other wannabe drifter!)

Well, since I drive one every day, A Spyder is NOT a bad vehicle. I get around 27-8 mpg, it starts everytime, and they aren't as expensive as a Rex to repair. HOW-ever, you said the trans has no 4th gear, right? The trans aren't cheap to repair correctly(CORRECTLY) and proper maintenence is a must. Timing belt must be replaced every 30k, flush brake system EVERY year and other things as preventive maintainence. Kinda funny that RX7 owners, of all people think this car is unreliable. Veeeery interesting.....
