Mustangs are much more common in these parts then RXs. I love the 3rd gen RXs, I have a 88 vert, and before that I had a 1985 RX. If i had more space I would probably have kept the 85 just cause it was such a reliable beater. Mustangs I would have to say the early 90s, before the new style, and before the 4.6 I have a friend who has his Mustang in the low 9's, and the crazy retard still drives it in the streets occasionaly, slicks, roll bar narrowed rear and all. I always loved the 90 coupes, my cousin and I built his up when it only had 11,000 miles on it, before it had become so common, car was a blaaaaaaaaaast.

Question

Rotaries, chronologically:

RX-3 - especially the SP edition... *drool*

REPU - they look so cool for a mini-truck, and I can just imagine getting one all hopped up on a hot motor

1gen GSL-SE - I like dem wheels, mm-hmmm

2gen Series V, any model - the taillight cluster is just damned sexy, and the entire car is so much improved from the Series IV

3gen, pre-99 facelift, preferably an R package (the most beautiful car ever produced, hands down, no argument)

Mustangs, chronologically:

The very first original design.

Uhh....

The Shelby GT350 and GT500 rigs were pretty sweet too, but a little over done for my taste.

I basically despise all of the rest of the 'stangs. Especially the Mustang II. Cripes, man.

My mom has a '99 V6 auto convertible 'stang. I know, that's not really an accurate representation of a real Mustang's performance, but I got aced by a stock looking CRX in it. That's just sad. Not to mention that the car feels like a huge lead weight, including the seats. Could they have made them any less comfortable?

Okay, sorry, I digress.

Hey all, sorry if this is a dumb question but I don't have many Mustangs in my neck of the woods. What do you mean when you refer to them as a 'fox body'? I'd be really interested to know.Thanks. ???

Fox bodied stangs are mustangs from the 79-93 time period. They really didnt change a whole lot. A few different engines.. a few interior changes... but mainly the same car.

engines ranged from

2.3 4 cyl 88hp

I think 233 Inline 6 not sure on that one...

3.8 V6 120 hp

4.2 V8 140hp

2.3 Turbo EFI 140 1983

2.3 Turbo EFI 190 1984

2.3 Turbo EFI 190 1985

2.3 Turbo EFI 205 1985 1/2

2.3 Turbo EFI 190 1986

5.0 V8 carbed 225hp 84-85 I believe

5.0 V8 86 weak motor Ford fucked up on the heads just 86

5.0 V8 EFI fixed it and 225hp came along 87-93

2.3 4 EFI 84-90 88hp

2.3 4 DP DIS EFI 105hp

5.0 V8 EFI Cobra 245hp came along though those motors tend to dyno a bit more than they should for that # and these stangs where also stomping the new Camaro with the 350 LT1 285hp motor. 93 then 94-95. But the 94-95 SN95 cars where slower due to considerable fat on the cars. Ford kind of weighed them down some.

4.6 SOHC 96-97 215hp GT

4.6 DOHC 96-98 305hp Cobra

4.6 SOHC 98-NA 235hp GT

4.6 DOHC 99-02 320hp Cobra

4.6 SOHC 99-02 260hp GT

3.8 V6 99-02 190hp V6 base model capable of 15 flat with a 5 spd.

4.6 DOHC 03-NA 390hp Supercharged Cobra Model

Oh and on those V6 seats.... Yep they suck! Find yourself a Cobra and sit in those aaaahhhh much improved. The GT's arent much better. Though the 93 GT seats in my Coupe are pretty comfortable.

That should sum it up for ya........

But that basically sums it up

I hope that moderators aren't required to know such things.

Hey thanks twin88stangs that's sorted it out.You certainly know your mustangs. I didn't actually know there was factory turbo mustangs. They say you learn something new every day. How do they go with that setup as compared to the V8 engines? ???
