Do you have any idea what kind of car the z06 is? runs 12s..handles beautifully...I agree the reg c5 is alright, but the z06 is incredible
No offense but its people like you that made my first drive ever in a Z-06 totally unimpressive.

Everyone totes this car as gods gift to the automobile world. I found it to feel heavy and cumbersome nothing like I thought it would be. It felt like a C-5 w/ 50 more Horsepower IF THAT.

A drive in a Z-06 left me totally unimprssed and further cemented my belief that a well set up FC or FD for that matter for the fraction of the cost will dominate the mighty Z-06.

BTW - The Z-06 I drove was pretty well modded it had suspension upgrades an intake and exhaust. Yawn.

Yeah, not to mention that I work at a dealership and see Z-06s regularly and sure they have *****, they damn well should for their price tag, but seriously.... Who cares?? There are sooooo many better new cars for that price that I would much rather have. It is in reality still a C5 (woop dee doo.... ) and is exactly what Jims5543 said it was. Very unimpressive, and deserving a big yawn in my book. Like I said, "Maybe a lifted eyebrow...... Maybe..."

just asking... what's a better new car performance wise at the price range of a z06 than a z06?

c5 or fd? you know it doesnt matter cause within a year whichever one he picks is ganna be gone. Nuffin against the kid its just the fact that hes 17 and when i was 18 i already was on my second car, along with many others. Deff not the c5 if anything the fd. For the money saved on the fd your parents can spend on buy'n u a new car after the fact. Also trust me the fd is more fun to drive, lighter and it feels better c5 is heavy and maybe its just me but feels like it was made for a 50 year old guy. fd has better style plus the one your looking at already has a bodykit so hey thats a plus. I would seriously consider finding a nice fc tii in good condition doing some work to it and learning how to drive/handle a car with power, learn about the rotary world and have some fun. Then after a while sell the fc make your money back (if you dont crash it) and then get an fd your rich *** friends might get on you for driven an old rx7 but whatever let the power talk for itself. Whenever my rich *** friends say **** i just point out the fact that i just smoked their ***. also if you have the money you can make an fc into something reallyy nice if you know what your doing.

Thats what I'm sayin. A few of my rich friends have an rx-8, s2000,bmw 330 ci, and is300. My brother had a 2nd gen, I loved the car thats why I wanted a FD, my parents dont want to get me the car for one that they dont want it too give problems and have me shutting down anywhere. That particular FD is sold now and the only way I can get one is to find one close to home and with low miles which is hard to find. Ill most likely get a used c5 non zo6 because I dont know what else is as fast before modding , is farily new , low milege and looks aight ( no where as nice as a FD) but oright. Here in my neighborhood alot of older men have their c5s but a young kid like me having one is pretty cool in my opinion. This one I'm looking at is very cheap way below kbb value and is in the area so if things go well I might be driving it soon. If anyone can tell me what is fairly new , just as fast as a c5 ,$30k or bealow , please tell me.

Thanks for all the feedback.

I don't doubt that at all, my point is...the car handles and is fast stock...jsut look at the numbers....i'm not trying to get into a pissing contest here...but how many cars...stock...handles and are as fast?...i'm not talking about modified, cause anything with a turbo will usually go faster when modifiying...its just easier to turn a ****

The Numbers?

405 HP 400TQ

3100 lbs

0-60 in 4 seconds

1/4 mile in 12.5 seconds

All for the one low price of $50,000

The thing I dont like about them is that they are like Camaros here they are everywhere you look.

Again, no offense my ride in the Z-06 was far from impressive. My Mini handles better that it and its stock.
