Bet you've never seen one of these

Not that great for the $. I don't even know how much the new ones are going for, but I can think on plenty of other cars (non fords) I'd buy for the price tag of a GT40. Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling them a POS. They are a real cool looking car, and have the hp to back up the looks. And I'd be drooling all over it if I ever saw one on the street. I just wouldn't put it in my top 10 "wish list of cars."

lol just remember Ford owns Mazda....
lol
And after seeing a 2001 turbo Porsche blow its engine the other day right in front of Goedeckers on Manchester in st.louis I think I will stick with a GT40. Mid engined V8. Most parts readily available cheaper to service. Parts already out to modify the car with. Plus the Gt40 has the ***** to challenege a GT2 Porsche. Besides too many peeps over in rich country drive a porsche and have no clue on how to really drive it. Kind of a Yupie car....
<_<

As far as the GT40 goes, Ford can do whatever the hell they want with it. It can go as fast as it likes, but I will still fail to give a ****.
If Ford EVER put their name on a Mazda, I'd never buy it. Its bad enough that they've cheapened key points on the Miata ("fake" oil pressure gauge, instead of fully functioning one), but if they bastardized any Mazda with their name, especially an RX- car, I'd set Dearborn on fire.

are the new GT40's a proper monocoque like the real GT40's? Coz there are replica kit cars that u can buy here in nz for pretty cheap...and they look pretty phat aswell. I agree with you Twin89stangs...i reckon a 500hp mid engined V8 GT40 would give a GT2 a very good run for its money..i doubt a GT2 porsche could break the 240mph barrier...and the GT40 would be lighter, and probably handle better.
