Yes! I read something about this somewhere. Audi continues to impress me. Not many manufacturers are interested in being on the cutting edge of automotive technology. Audi is doing a damn fine job of it, IMO.

My wife's daily driver is an '01 A6 2.7T. The car is holding up well with 50k miles on it. Very nice car, and not nearly as trouble prone as many people make them out to be.

Bravo Audi

Very impressive engineering effort. I am on another site that is frequented by owners of VW TDI cars. They ROUTINELY get mileage figures better than hybrids.

With the prospect of renewable diesel based on vegetable oil just a matter of time (research is almost complete), one wonders why any manufacturer would waste their time on gas hybrids. I can understand the domestic manufacturers ignoring this, but why is Japan ignoring this small engine/high mileage solution

I remember reading about that car several months ago, how it was supposed to help Americans realize how good diesels can be (aside from large trucks).

Which new consumer-use Audi is TDI? I was on their website and the all looked to be gasoline?

I believe Audi, just as BMW, only offers diesels in their Euro-spec cars.
