my cousin had a 4.2 A6, it was returned under lemon laws

for something with the brakes, double check them.
I will watch the brakes closely. What exactly was his problem with them?

4 cars? damn, so Jim you are telling me i should open up a surveying company?
What can I say. You are studying to be an engineer you will own me one day trust me. Engineers make way more money than surveyors.

Another thing to consider is the fact that I bought a very simple modest home whereas most engineers and lawyers etc.. are all about status like where you live and what you drive etc.. They end up blowing all their money on 500K homes and BMW's and Mercedes for the wife along with country club memberships etc.. I am a down and dirty guy I prefer my 87 Monster to drive over all of my cars.

The guy in the shop next to me asked why I dont drive a Viper or Z-06 and its simple they are status cars and I am not about that.

The A-6 or the Audi line up for that matter is totally underated. Everyone runs to the BMW dealership first.

Or go all out on an Audi S8...... WOW!! Dude if you lay your eyes on one of those beauties you will steal one if you have to!! Amazing, but around 100k or more. But hey, I've only ever seen 2!!! Robert De Niro sports one in that horrible "Ronin" movie.

There was an S-8 and a RS-6 on the dealership floor. This is in West Palm Beach = Very Wealthy Area.

The A-6 was very resonably priced when you start looking at the S's the price jumps dramatically. Keep in mind this is the wifes car she already yelled at me after she caught me looking at chips for it.

I couldn't agree more. The materials and fit and finish and the solid, powerful feel of these cars is unattainable in this price range, IMO. The BMW 3-series is nice, but its tiny and it costs more.

Audi's standard warranty on this car is for 4 years, or 50k miles, plus it includes all maintenance, including oil changes--they use synthetic.

Regarding the brakes on our car, they have turned the rotors--no charge (I didn't feel any indication they were warped--not sure why they did it) and a brake fluid change at 20k per the standard maintenance interval (again, no charge).

We have been very happy with the car.
