58 Packard Hawk
#1
Now the rest of the world may not care BUT...
I FINALLY got to see a 58 Packard Hawk up close and personal. There were only 500 some odd of them made, they're rare as hell and one of the coolest looking cars of that era as far as I'm concerned.
It's also the last of the Packards and of the Studebakers for that matter, last gasp of the company.
If anyone cares I'll post the pictures of it.
Also saw a bunch of other lovely street rods......

RE Packard... yes, the 58 was the last of the Packards... it came with a 352ci engine that had good torque...however.. the car to have was the 57 Golden Hawk (IMHO)... 289 ci. mine came with a automatic(fordomatic) only lasted for 3 weeks.. then went to a 3speed with OD.. lasted 2 weeks, installed a t-10... this car would run right with the NEW !!! "63 vett stingray... up to bout 127....mph.. The Dusenburg Bros concieved and mfg the car that carried their name... inthe 30;s ..over 100MPH in 2nd gear...big with a super charger.. The Cord as well as the Auburn also had superchargers..oh yes... my '57 Golden Hawk also had a s/c.. of the paxton / Mc coullagh variety.. However, the Avanti by Studebaker also came with the same blower on the 3 mod...just the rambling of a ollld man..... however, several mths ago .... while i was recovering from crashing my Kawa ZL1...(hi 10's, low 11's thru i/4 mile..Ammm... i flew to Orange County and bought a 94 Mazda RX7 Silverstone... over the Grapevine... cruzn on #5 at proxx 105, came upon a white Supra TT... we ran 3 times, from 100 up to over 155mph...AYAYAYAYAYAYAAYAY i could.t pull him . Nor could he get away from me... be careful of us olllld gray hair guys.... WE STILL LIKE TO PLAY!!!! If you have read this far you are maturing well yourself ..... wishing youall the best "Keep em Spinning" Sincerly, Carter........ PS this TT is just a little slow thus, the ARC box, PFS purple, RX7Fashion SSdp with the reliabality mods and Eibach springs, Bilstien shocks etc, etc , etc.... it nevvvver ends......................

I like the golden hawks, but I don't like the eggrate grill as much as the swoop nose. As I recall that supercharger was too much for the stude motor and would blow it?
I'm on a quest to get a Stude pickup

Yeah they had a few out there as well. Real popular car to beef up at the rod shows.
Also had a stude commader (bullet nose) that was pushing 400 rwhp
