whats up, anyways i have been reading about the old 2.3 turbo engines in the svo mustangs and turbocoupes, mercurys, etc. they seem to be a pretty bulletproof engine, i have plans to buy and old svo motor, manual tranny, harness and computer as well as all the misc. items, its going into my 97 ford ranger where i alreaady have the 2.3 motors, basically bolt up except exhaust and wiring, etc. but the real question is anyone here have anything at all to add about the engine? i just want some passing power for my ranger and the occasional sleeper kill, lol. whos had one, dealt with them, had a friend, the more i read about these engines the more i read about how bulletproof they aer but i want hard proof and experience and the likes. thanks for the info

I've ridden in a highly modded SVO Mustang, and I must say, it had a lot of punch. Did a hard pull from a stoplight, and it really laid me back in the seat. The engines are fairly lightweight, too, if I remember correctly. I'd say go for it.

Hmm... I did a 2.3Turbo swap into an 83 Ranger... Didn't do all the computer stuff though... wish I did... as I rewired the whole thing... But that's another story...

Anyways... It pulls like a mother... or did... untill I wrapped a schwack of wires around the steering column and yeah..

Giver man! You'll have fun!
