well boys, i will be leaving for a while, i sat in the federal courthouse in spokane all day thursday and friday completing my MEPS(military entrance proccessing station)... i had to go back up for the physical and job placement and to get swore in... i leave on the 15th of next month, i am going to the army to be a aviation operations specialist, basically i will be coordinating/creating/maintaining flight plans, things like that... i leave on the 15th for 9 weeks of basic training at fort benning, georgia... from there i will have 8 weeks and 3 days of AIT (advanced individual training) at fort rucker, alabama... i actually believe that i am going to be stationed at ft. lewis, so hopefully i will remain local, and a lot more local to the action than i am now... if i cant get lewis, im going to try and get germany... lots and lots and lots of beer!!! i am having to sell my fc, but between the bonus's and the *** load of money i will be making, i will be able to buy a much better one than the engineless base model!!! anywho, i may not be on here too much, but hopefully come this fall/winter i will be in the area, and be able to atend all the local events, best of luck guys!

Holy **** dud you need to talk to more people before you make decisions like this. Anyway I was at rucker for 4 months you need to talk to me before you go.

I did three years active duty from 93-96, Would I do it all over if I had the chance, No. Best of luck to you, and I hope you get fort lewis,. Start running now, pushups and situps, Because as my drill used to say "nothing good will come to you if you don't pass your p.t. test privates."

You'd better at least work on your mile. One of the first things they do is give you a PT test and if you don't meet the minimums you go to FTU. Fatass Training Unit. Seriously...

I think they actually have to do a mile and a half if memory serves me right from when my buddy was at army boot camp.

And as for the PT test-

Its 2 miles in i beleive 16:30 (around there)

then a number of push ups in 2 minutes that isnt hard at all (I think its 35 last i checked)

and the same for sit ups, 2 minutes (think its 45)

Army pt test is a 2 mile run, 2 minutes of push ups and sit ups. But when you first get there there is a one week period of reception which doesn't count as your 9 weeks of basic. On like day 5 or 6 there is a diagnostic where you run one mile do 20 situps and 20 pushups if you can't do them you go to fatass camp until you can then you can go down range to basic.

i have been doing some pt testing with my recruiter, learning all the ranks and etc. etc. all of this counts towards my E2 , and getting my friend to enlist got me my E3 (**** yeah, 2 promotions in the last 2 days!), in 2 minuts, 60 pushups were easy, 52 sit ups, and i can do a 1 mile in 7:03 and 2 miles in about 14:45, i pass all the final basic training requirements as it is, so i am only going to get better... this is something i need to do, the little town i live in ******* blows! plus this will give me lots of car money! thanks for the support guys, i hope to be somewhere local, if not lewis right away, i am DEFINATELY going to put in for a transfer, and the shitty thing is, they changed it, i would know where i am going until after my A school
