Looking good. Are you relocating the battery to the passenger bin then?

Yeah, it's going back there. We're going with a smaller Odyssey battery. It's the same one we use in FDs, because it still has plenty of juice but will fit in the tiiiiiiny bins in an FD.

If you are relocating why not just go with an optima red top. Price will not be much more. You have subs etc. I was talking to Gary the other day and he said that he was really worried about my battery. At first I kind of shrugged it off. But he made a good point. The microtech starts to shut off if less that 10v is obtainable. I will not be running subs but I plan on having my laptop onboard when need be.

I think that it is going to be on my list to do when I get a stereo installed. If you are going through the pain why not just get a good battery that will fit back there. Price will not be any more costly. My odessey battery cost 100 after tax. Optima is around 120+tax.

When it comes down to it I really can't talk because I am running the odessey. But my own setup concerns me.

Optima red tops suck. I've gone through two in 3 years, First onewas warrentied, but they don't hold a charge for crap. They're great for the first six months.

I got a red top sitting in the shop right now. It is still under warranty but it is a battery "made" by Optima but sold under a different brand name. If I could find a place that could warranty it than I would be in business. If you are going with an Optima battery than I would say go with the yellow top. I have seen plenty of red tops go bad and have bad cells. Worst part was the batteries were being used in stock applications. No aftermarket stereo equipment or fog lights.

I can't really complain about the red top I got (especailly if I can get it warrantied) because I got it for free.

The red top I have sat on a slow charge for almost a week solid and as soon as I disconnected the the charger and tested it it dropped back down to just under 11V. It has a dead cell for sure!

Good to know folks. When I went all around I just heard that the red tops were the best. Can't trust anyone, I tell ya.

And mine went bad with no stereo, no fog lights. Just stock lights and MSD, and my Holley FP, LOL, to drain power.
