spent the night at the GF's as always



4:15ish am



come out this morning and notice something weird



that orange security light in the center console is on, not blinking like it ussually is, go to put my key in and the keyslot is turned a half turn, put my key in turn it right to straiten it, try to open door thinking its locked and it opens.







They stole:



My sunglasses



CD binder (full of CDs)



my arcade tokens from the ashtray (WTF?)



and the part i'm woried about



my title was NOT taken but the glovebox had been gone through



its contents on the floor



and they also took my Garage door remote.



think they took my tire pressure gauge and tiny screwdriver from the glovebox too, but I'm not worried about those items.







then I went strait to work







well I can say I've joined the "burglarized/vandalized rx7 owners club", and i'm not happy about it.



I'm just happy the car was still there



they didn't take my cd player or faceplate.



I'm guessing that they may have aquired my address from something else in my glovebox, and now i don't feel safe taking my 7 home (remeber they have the remote for the garage door.)



the lock is still in good shape, they probally used another 7 key or whatever







question is from this point what should I do?



count my losses and move on, I didn't loose the car but now i'm worried that I'm being watched & they plan to come to my apartment open up the door and take my car then.



this really sucks cause I was planning on moving in with my GF and so far at her apartment complex my car has been damaged, vandalized (left car parked in someone elses spot, they lipsticked the windows) and now broken into.



I don't feel safe leaving my car at her place anymore

Unplug your garage door opener in the mean time. I am sure that you can get a different frequency remote. Most likely there are little crystals in the garage door opener and remote. Be careful...



That being said...tokens wtf?

oh and when i say title, i meant registration.

and its the opener for my apartment complex gate, not my own garage

Judging by the list of things taken/left, I'd guess it was just some kids out late and bored. You probably have nothing to worry about, but...........better safe than sorry. Start sleeping in your car.

This is kinda from left field, but let me paint a scenario:



Your GF has a jealous ex-boyfriend who has been watching you and doesn't like the fact that you're spending the night with her. He breaks into your car, takes some penny-ante stuff and gets your address. Maybe in a few days, or weeks or even months later, he gains access to your place and waits until you go to sleep and then....











....wakes you up and invites you to a bar to compare notes?







Nah, it's too crazy. I'm sure it's just kids that broke into your car and didn't steal the stereo.

yeah ive had some weird theifs, once i came out and my hatch was open and just my subs were gone, they used my own wire crimpers to cut my straps that hold them down ( acidently left a window down)





then another time i swear my car was locked and someone picked it at a freinds apartments( his rx7 was stolen from them the yr before) , they rumaged threw my center console, pried open my glove box ( which was broken so i riged it closed) fools... then my cd deck was pulled out of my dash about an inch.... only thing that was actually missing was about a dollar in change that was in the center.....



point being theifs sure do suck!!! makes me mad everytime

i've since "clubbed" my car and no longer leave anything inside it

heard a few stories along the way, someone had their hood stolen.. just the hood. lol whatever

going to get a 2-way paging alarm soon, before i start making any preformance mods... i don't wanna buy a 1k $ in parts just to have my car jacked.

The alarm would be the most importaint upgrade, especially if it has pageing. And sorry to hear about it, (don't move in with the GF by the way)
