yup... same thing happened to me except with a Big *** solid steel gymnasium door in Elementary school... and my middle finger.
heated up the sharp end of a nail till it was glowing, gently pressed into my nail till it melted away, BE CAREFUL not to press into your finger under the nail. if you can't stand to do it to yourself... get a friend or, if you like doctor bills, go to the doctor and he will do the same thing... except maybe it could be considered "more sterile"
