Hi, I need a hook up on good used 17" tires. I used to be able to ask the front counter if I could rummage through the pile of "junk" tires before they loaded them up into those big semi-truck container transport things, but they won't let me do that anymore.

Some of the stuff they throw away are freaking GOLD, with only the slightest of camber wear.

I rock mine till they bulge, split, and pop.

Summer's here, and I'm going through my tire stash like craaazy (I popped my first pair within four runs, last event...sigh).

I'll kick you down some money, and in return, you know...just stash them junk tires where I can get easy access/hold them for me.

I'm looking for anything between 215/40/17's to 225/45/17's, in matching pairs preferably.

hahaha, I mean it's not REALLY stealing if they're throwing them away anyways, right?

Right.

And for those that don't know me, this is me:

um, ok. that' s it, thanks...

- Earl

P.S. If you're a manager at a tire shop, please don't sue me. I have no money, as you can see with this post as obvious evidence. Thanks.

AE, i'm working with a guy that works at schwabs in toppenish, wa on some soccer stuff. i'll see if he has access. if he does, it would be no big thing to drive them over the mtn when i come to work... i think i have four 17's on a set of wheels. i want the wheels, not tires- do you have a way to demount them, cause you can have the tires por nada if you get them off the rims.

btw- the tII hood still bolts on, more or less!

I would have a hook up for tires, but the guy I know wants the good tires just as bad as you would want them. He works at a tire shop where there really isn't a policy about used tires. I know at Wal-Mart and Les Schwab they have a policy about some of the used tires that can be gave or sold. At Wal-Mart ALL used tires go to the recycler NO EXCEPTIONS. When I worked at Wal-Mart I saw way to many perfect tires go to the recycler because people got rid of tires because they didn't like how they handled, or were too stiff, or whatever. I should have worked something out with the recycler that buys the tires for 70 cents (or less) a piece.

Jenkin - haha, good to hear about the hood man. Yeah, I have a way to dismount the tires off of your wheels, no problem...get to me about what size they are though, because although camber wear and thread isn't that big a problem, sizing is where it's at...fitment's a bitch on my rig.

again, I'm looking for ANYTHING between a 215/40/17's all the way to 235/45/17's...

I know, I know, beggars can't be choosers.

rmriggin - what's so special about selling to a recycler? legal ramifications, liability, etc.? Hell, if they have what I'm looking for, I'll GLADLY pay .70 a tire, easy!

thanks for the leads so far guys.

keep 'em coming.
