It sounds like he is the guy your looking for to paint your hotrod
I'd have to agree with Dave... bargain paint jobs are for when you're trying to get a car off your hands, not for your baby, the couple extra $100 will probably pay off in the long run, plus it's always better to work with someone who loves his work and takes great pride in it that some jackass who's only goal is another paycheck.

Anyway... car is looking sweet... are we going to be seeing you and the car anytime soon? like rotorfest? or Roy's BBQ? [/quote]

Yeah,

I'll probably go with Dan (guy #2). He was totally into his work and you should have seen how pissed off he got when he would show pics of his work and say the idiot that owned the car would wreck it a month or so later. It was like a piece of him was totaled with it.

He also showed me pics of one car he painted for the World of Wheels circuit and he also did 2 cars for HIN. Very nice and clean looking.

Your right, the other painter just wanted a pay check.

I should be at Roy's BBQ. I checked the calander and I'm free that weekend, so I got my permission slip signed I really doubt that the Midget will be done by then. Maybe by August if all goes well

Good news!

My wife said OK to spending the money to get the car painted by shop #2. The only thing I'm going to do is paint the interior/underhood myself to save a few$$. Now I just need to finish up the interior mountings and clean it up to get ready for paint

What were the 2 shops you went to? Did you check out JT's collision in Eldersburg?

Shop #1 was Becks in Wesmonster. Shop #2 was R.A.C.E. in Littlestown, PA (just as you enter town on the left headed north on 97).

I didn't look into JT's, but someone told me to check out Hampstead auto Body.

I need to add my sick LED 3rd brake light and front turn signals (super slick flush mount!) and clean up the interior and paint the interior, then take it to the painter. I'd say about a month...

You might want to check into JT's place. I've seen there work personally and its top notch. They paint all the Ferraris for the speedvision racing ****. Also they do all the body work for Ferrari of Washington. Just a thought

You may have seen the owners truck riding around westmonster. Ita a newer toyota tacoma with the chamelion paint. It looks really nice.

I'm going to try to chek out a few more body/paint shops this week if the weather holds. I'll check out JT's and another shop in PA.

I just have a question for those that have seen the car, would the air dam in the pic look good or not? I already have the dam but I can't make up my mind and I have to make the mounts for it now if I do want it painted and on the car. It will be removable with Dzus fasteners, but there will be holes left in the front apron that you will see if it is not on the car.

So, what do you guys think? Try to picture adding a splitter to the dam also (an idea I had).

The car pictured has the same body kit that I have so everything else will be the same but he is a bit lower
