When he tuned my car, we accomplished more in 20 minutes on the street then we did after an hour on the dyno. My car runs 10X better now. If I ever needed him to tune again I would opt to just street tune and not bother with the dyno.

I agree with Jims5543. My mechanic hooks his lap top the the cars internal computer plug and just asks me to drive the car.
Normal street driving first and once in a while he asks me to give it a bit.
Big difference in tunning the car than on a dyno.

It's been my experience that both dyno and street tuning have their advantages. The dyno is really good for tweaking for more HP, fine turning, etc. Plus you don't run the risk of getting pulled over. Apparently, the law seems to frown on us making 3rd & 4th gear redline pulls on public roads. Street tuning is cool because it adds other variables to the tune. (heat & exhaust coming of other cars, cursing glitches, wind resistance, etc.) You can really increase highway MPG this way too.
