OK here is the schedual for Friday's Show-N-Shine day:
LOCATION:
HICORY POINT RECREATION FACILITY
27341 State Road 19
Tavares Fl.
This is a 5 mile drive from the Hotel. Door to Door directions from the Hotel to the Car Show can be found HERE!!!
12pm: The Show Begins
2:30pm: Judging Begins
4:00pm: Awards Presentation
11 awards will be presented in the following categories:
Best FB
Best FC
Best FD
Best RX-8
Best Vintage/Non Mazda
Best Paint
Best Sound System
Best Engine Bay
Best Under Construction A.K.A. Primer Class
People's Choice Award
Best Of Show
There will be a DJ on site, BBQ Burgers, chips, etc. will be included in the days activities.

We can't squeez the event into 2 days, that's all there is to it. It's one day a year, call in sick.
I know mazdadrifter, jims5543 and myself are just going to quit our jobs, we'll figure out what to do about that on monday.

Kris and I are making some phone calls today try and find a suitable location. The parks department said that they would make a one time exception and allow us to park the cars on the grass.
We would be using their pavillion which has a BBQ pit and I told them we would have some music as well.
Kris is also talking to the fairgrounds people. Either way I think we'll come up with a very nice location. Kris has been emailing people that live in Tavares... not sure how he came up with that one LOL, anyhow just to keep you posted I think things are shaping up.

Well first off let me thank mazdadrifter for hunting down this beautifull location for the Show and Shine.
As you can see by the pics this place has it call, it's a covered, screened area with BBQ pits. We plan on BBQ'ing burgers and what not for the event, so we hope to see you all there.
Registration for the event will take place during the day for those coming in and out and prizes will be awarded for show and shine winners.
Friday's festivities will be held at a local park in Tavares called Hickory Point Recreational Park. We will be setup at a 2 story covered and screened building with 4 bbq pits and plenty of restrooms (see picture) next to the lake for registration at 10 a.m. friday morning, with the Show and Shine to follow.
The site has everything from fishing piers, to nature board walks, to horseshoes to volleyball. So it should be a nice atmosphere for everyone to sit back and relax, maybe even catch a fish or two.
Since this is a very well maintained park, ENTRANCE FEE HAS BEEN WAIVED We have tried to organize a way to pre-pay this fee for all attendees but the logistics are impossible, due to the fact that we have no idea on the total number of regristrants until the day of the event. What we CAN do is provide free hamburgers, chips, drinks, ect. on site once you have entered. So plan on having a good time and eating well.
This is a privatley owned park, (seperate from our autocross facility) so wreckless driving won't be tolerated, there will be plenty of time to push your car to the limits (and past) on saterday and sunday.
We look forward to seeing you there.

You damn well better bring me a ploe and some bait scott! Considering my fishing pole holder looks like a shouldner launch bazooka, I don't think I want to try and take it with me on the train!~

I have signed up for the driving school and autoX and all but im not entering the show-n-shine....will I have to pay just to spectate???

The initial 30 dollar entrance(car and driver) fee covers the show and shine.
