Heah there i'm Tim, i'm 28, live just outside of London and have had points on my licence since I was 17 for speeding, my right foot is heavier than my left, i'm capable with a spanner but no auto Einstein, i'm a sucker for blondes and some day I dream of getting hammered in the Viper room LA...
I have a black hardtop RX7 '91 Turbo II that i've had for about 4 months now, she's not my first (hee hee) but I intend to take a lil' more care with this one! (the last two met unfortunate ends...)
So far it's been all dull stuff as the 7 had been in storage for 2 years (the cars previous owner had kept it for 11 years!) and as yet i've had no chance to do anything 'nice'...
Though on the 6 hour blast home after picking her up, I noticed that the discs were warped (at 130 odd mph...) which made braking fun... so first job was a set of Black Diamond grooved and drilled discs front and back! I have also replaced the clutch slave and master cylinder (last week after the pedal went limp...) took the time load her up with steel braided lines too... and the powersteering cooler bar at the front exploded a couple of weeks before that which ment a new adjustable pulley bearing, new belt and a ghetto fab new cooler at the front end (please read as silcone hose...)
The brakes still aren't right so i'm just waiting to see if the RX8 front calipers will fit... I don't like the idea of ABS (only had bad experiences with 7's and ABS in the past!) so i'm gonna see if I can ditch that too... I have a set of non-ABS hubs on order as I type... other than that, i've put on a MOMO steering wheel, hub and shift **** on, a set of black crystal front lights and a chrome swirl pot... which is a start.
I've just come back to 7 ownership after a prolonged stretch in a '85 Nissan S12, i've still got the S12 and it is (sadly) a love affair, but with an RX8 (that a friend kindly rolled...) sitting around the ol' '85 is gonna get the glorious RX8 engine...
I am currently at my desk (working hard) but will post pics as soon as possible!
