I have a 91 convertible that I bought new. In the last few years It has not been driven much and spends most of the time in my garage. It has 90,000 miles and I have never had any problems with the car but now with long periods of not being driven things are starting to happen. I now have a flashing seat belt light that will not go off. The warning buzzer stops when the belt is fastened but the light continues to flash. When I try to go to high beam on the head lights they flash on but switch back to low beam. If I pull the light switch back and hold it, the high beam flashes in unison with the flashing seat belt warning. All other lights and warning signals etc are working properly. A local mechanic told me the light switch is broken. Since both of these problems occurred at the same time, I doubt it. I need someone to fix it or buy it. I live in Eastern North Carolina. Thanks for any help you can give me

Fixed it today and the car passed inspection. I still need to find someone to rebuild my wiper switch.

I am pretty good with a soldering iron, if you can find instructions and source the parts for the switch rebuild, I put it together. I am out of Raleigh, NC.

I replaced the board in FC66" (black box (CPU).
After looking at the diagram, you can see that this controls a lot of stuff. I knew that I had problems with the warning system and I was sure the CPU would fix that. It seemed logical to hope that if I fixed this problem then the light switch would function properly because it appeared that that circuit was being interrupted with every flash of the warning light. I was so confident of this reasoning that after I got everything back together around 8 at night, I waited until the next afternoon to start the car. Boy was I relieved when the lights worked.
I read a lot of post on several sites and some thought that replacing the CPU would at least be a good start. A couple of guys thought this might also fix the lights but no one was sure. After a lot of reading, a guy convinced me to order the part and give it a try. That push enabled me to get this problem fixed a lot sooner than I would have without a lot of help.

You may be a life saver. This sure is not my line of work. Let me do some more research and I will contact you.

Thanks a lot
