Hi- I'm Shane, from Salem,VA, & a noob to rotary engines but eager to learn. My current project I'm working on is a '74 Ford courier( REPU's cousin, but it came with a 1.8 piston engine). Due to the nature of the project I am short on engine compartment space, specifically with height( I don't want to cut the hood).Ditching the 1.8(too tall) for a 12a. I have a '83 rx7 with a 12a I am planning on swapping into the courier. Even though this is going to be a show vehicle, I do want it to go. I want to squeeze as much hp out of the 12a and keep it simple, but still be able to depend on it to drive a couple of hours to a car show or get away. So I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions.
Hey flowscort. I saw your pics on ownersclub. I was there for about a day and got told to pour ATF in the spark plugs and/or Marvel mystery and seafoam. I thought sounded odd so I looked around and it seems genuine here although this is the first page I read.
Anyway, had a 85 10 years ago but never thought I'd get one again.

[topic="0"]not running to good[/topic]
1990 rx7 pretty stock 136K 2nd owner looking for advise on serious lack of power. I have cleaned out the fuel tank (lots fo crap in it)and replaced the fuel pump ( it was not building pressure and it wasn't the correct one for the car anyway) and filter and will run some injector cleaner through it. I hear rumor that there are some "ports" (vacum operated?) that I need to check to see if they are opening properly and I'm not to sure how to locate them. Not use to working on this beast and as you know a decent non guessing mechanic are hard to find

Hey guys,
I am new here at this forum! I came here for a couple of good reasons.
One of those reasons was because I just have always been fascinated by rotaries.
The second reason is I need some info on a project I'll be working on here next year.
I am currently living in Largo, FL and will be going to school for car audio installation in the beginning of next year.
I plan on in the future using the rotary as a swap engine for a few cars, hopefully I can get the info I need here.
Hopefully I haven't dragged on and bored you guys yet. Lol. I'm proud to be apart of the forums.

Wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm in Houston TX and just bought my first rotary; it has a small problem.
I have a background in Saabs and I plan to ask a bunch of questions during the rebuild so please take it easy on me.
It's a '93 w/80k miles and is an older build. As purchased, it's had a single turbo conversion already done (TO4E .96 AR w/15 degree clip, external wg), coilovers, wet nitrous system, Apexi stand alone w/external boost controller, etc... I can't wait for the RWD. I feel like a kid at Christmas.
