Newby here, just wanted to say Hi.

I'm keeping my 94' FD pretty much stock looking, also.

Hope to pick up some good info here.

Middle -age thing I guess.

I bought an 85 gls-se for $650 about a year ago. It looked awful (that gray/silver stuff) but the red interior was in B+ - A- shape and the owner was commuting 60 miles per day in it. (I'm no mechanic, just wanted a toy to mess with) I had to replace the stereo and the windshield, so I'm out a couple hundred more... then came the MD state inspection.... That put me out $1200 for new ball joints, tires, and a laundry list of other infractions... but the guy that did the suspension work is pure magic.

I spent several weekends on the wiring. This thing has had a dozen owners, two or three engines, and I think as many trannnies. The wiring was a mess, no stock schematics came even close... but electronics was my first career, so if I couldn't figure it out, I just ran new wire.

I've been driving it as a daily commuter for nearly a year. Other than the 2 quarts of oil per month, it's cost me nothing but gas since... so I'm easily past the break-even point... tax refund is coming in, we're heading to the paint shop.. I'm thinking a non-stock color, I bought this thing to drive and have fun with, not to please some snooty purists.. maybe a charcoal gray, minimal trim....

Since I signed upon this site I've already hooked up with a saint that has some trim pieces I need , so unlike other wastes of Internet Bandwidth, I may stick around for a while here.

I just bought a wine-red 1978 Alfa Romeo alfetta gt 1800, the engine has been beaten, sleevs is rusted, no.1 piston has broken rings etc. Alfa parts is hard to finde and well....

Now I`m thinking of a 13b turbo??????

If you know the drivetrain[the egine in front and clutch, gearbox at the rear].

But wat about the propshaft that hs to spin at 9000rpm or higher??

Welcome to Nopistons! You could possibly have a driveshaft (propshaft) made. It's pretty common practice here in the States.

Hello everyone,

Im new to this forum, and so far I love it. I have gotten all questions answered within a few hours. Of all forums I have been with, this is definately the best. Hopefully soon I will have my car up and running, and tearing up the streets of central florida sideways, the way it should be!

Although I own a lot of different cars, Who needs pistons anyways? I'd rather drop a 13b in all of them.

Local members hit me up, Im in lakeland, FL.

Peace,

Cody

Sup everyone! I'm from paterson and drive a 86 gxl with only headers

hope to modify my car before rotorfest this year. Hopefully I'll have my bridgeport job done by Ito and try to at least break the 13's this year. Hope I can get all the support and feedback from the rotary community to help with this daily driven project! Nice meeting you guys
