Hail all - Resotoring an 84 GS
#1
Hello all.
I purchased an 84 GS last Dec and am currently trying to save it from the crusher.
It's got major rust damage on the rear hatch area. That's been painted with some Hammerite for
now to slow down corrosion and will require some serious body work later. The structure looks ok however. The rear strut towers, wheel wells and bumper struts all fine.
The shutter valve was broken so I am working on that. I have a bad back so I try to do as little as
possible wrench wise. I have tried to wire the valve shut.
I pushed the rod all the way back into the Shutter Valve and tied it with piece of coat hanger and
a zip tie for tension. Did I push it back to far? Advice requested...
