Coolant Expansion Tank
#1
I've had my new '93 RX7 for 3 weeks, and it's just hard to make that turn off the highway into work every day! However, since I got it, coolant runs into the plastic expansion tank, but does not return to the engine when it cools, and eventually overflows. Anyone else have this problem-and what likely is the problem?
Also seems that better airflow ventilation under the hood would help this very hot engine to keep cool while driving (yes, I do have a Fluidyne radiator). Any suggestions?

You need to do a pressure check sounds like you've got leak in the system or a bad cap, if you've got a leak in the system it will draw air in instead of overflow from the tank.
That's where I would start anyhow.

i had the same problem with my car...... and it ended up to be a bad radiator cap. you might wanna check that out first, just check if there are cracks on the seal. then check if there are any kinks in the lines going to and from the air separation tank.

Thanks for the tips-and the welcomes. I will definitely check on kinks in the (long) hose back to the AST tank. I forgot to mention that my coolant system is not losing any pressure. Even the next morning when I take off the radiator cap I can hear the suction of air into the system, which is a good thing. Then I have to top it off again.
