BTW: Sinful, IMHO, the only thing more pathetic than being Craig Lieberman is PRETENDING to be Craig Lieberman!

LMAO! That's gotta be SO true!

Everything aside, I'm certainly still wary of *some of* the ventures your name is attached to. I have met plenty of nice people that are after my money without intentions of actually providing my money's worth of good or services - that's why I'm quick to call scam, and why I warn others.. But who knows, I could be way off-base on this one.

Why all the hassle to find out the true name of the company?

Did you have anything to do with the cars that a BIG NAME shop that built a bunch of cars for the movie and were subssequantly scammed out of?

Huh? What hassle to find a true name for the company? I'm not following you...

The cars for both movies were built by Universals own mechanics at our facility in El Segundo and the for 2F 2F, in a rented warehouse in Florida.

WCC did some of the stereo work on some of the cars for 2F 2F, but beyond that, almost all of the other work was done in house.

There are tons of rumors about who did what to what cars, but since I was there for all of it, if you can elaborate on what you're talking about, I can fill you in.

The Movie was COBRA, with Sly Stallone. The shop was Eddie Paul's and it was for all the mercs used in the movie.

BTW: The internet community has a term for people who run slick websites that require money upfront (EXCEPT WHEN THE WEBSITE OWNER IS IN A BIND) to list their car.... I'll let you guess what it is.

I had to lie about my 'zip code', your registration doesn't accept Canadian postal codes.

Some of us also consider paying $349.95 for a 'sponsorship package' bullshit, FYI.

Re: getsponsorz.com

If you're referring to my old site, www.getsponsorz.com, that $349 was only available to certain people with certain cars...we had to hand pick the clients judging them first on whether or not their car was worthy of getting sponsored. We had only 3 clients we approved for this and we would ONLY charge them if we doubled their money in sponsorship. After 6 months of recruiting, we found only 3 clients worthy.

One was a WRX;

We got this kid a Do Luck kit, full stereo including JBL/Infinity components, tires, exhaust, harnesses, gauges. He paid only for paint and the $349, which at that point, became a broker's fee for writing/submitting the proposals, providing follow up photography and reports to sponsors. That car is still in great condition and is still doing well exposure wise.

Another was a 350Z;

VeilSide widebody kit, HRE wheels, Falken tires, full stereo sponsorship, etc. Total value of the parts on the car, including paint: $28,000. His cost was around $6K for everything.

Another was a G35...

This car received an Ings body kit and a Greddy twin turbo kit, along with tires, exhaust and other stereo goodies. Last I heard, that car was for sale.

Most of our GetSponsorZ clients chose the $49 package, which included a book on How To Get SponsorZ, along with access to our network of sponsorship contacts and a templated proposal. It was soon after (2003) that the bottom dropped out of the tuner market and companies stopped sponsoring.

We eventually shut down the site because too many people were trying to get sponsored with old, ratty cars and using our name to do it!

Conversely, there is a website now that charges your credit card the second you sign up, offering only product discounts *surprise* from their shop!

So you're saying that, with regard to GetSponsorZ, if I were to sign up for the $349 package, I wouldn't be charged? Seeing as how the website still exists and appears functional..

No, I had no involvement with Cobra. I'm not sure what studio that was, either.

However, we DID rent Eddie's El Segundo shop when we built the TF & TF cars for part 1 and for use again as we built about 25 of the 280 cars we used in 2F 2F.

I can appreciate your skepticism, and it may be well founded, but I can assure you that MovieCarZ has had GREAT success in placing cars. About 70% of my clients have been cast in something, some have been cast in several things.

I'm having difficulty understanding how me offering this service for free would be met with anything other than excitement. Yes, I normally charge a $15 fee to host the user's information, but in this case, its free to all users of this board.

Steve: Perhaps you and I should discuss offline...I'm sure you can recommend a car to me in California, someone who'd like to make $500+ for this gig.

As for GetSponsorZ, I'm not sure why the site is still up. It was supposed to have been pulled down last Summer. It'll be down shortly, as I'm focusing on my MovieCarZ projects.
