Hey Fiske, ever hear a Civic at a red light? They rev off like they're going to burst, say maybe 6-6.5K....then all the way back down to 1K as they feather the clutch, and then take off as slow as they normally do. It's so laughable.

Thank GOD I don't drive an FF.
hahaha it's so true, so true....

but like everybody here, i don't hate honda's, it's the majority of the drivers.

Unhappy

Sorry but I do NOT drive a shop built dynoqueen. 80% of the members on this site would have some serious issues if they came across my lil' beater.

Before Van (Jspecracer7) went single we did a couple pulls and I had no problems beating him. Of course Van got me on the launch but the 3rd gear monster ate him up! When I came across the cocky *** Spirit R owner a while back I had no problems embarassing him. I took my car all the way to 5th gear just to prove that it wasn't a fluke, I was trying to get home at 4am in the morn when he decided he needed a bitch slap session. Too my disbelief he told me I needed to get a real car with RWD. I could only answer with: "You lost to a HONDUH!". 1bad180sx was one of my first victims before I helped him pick a turbo setup for his car. My first kill with boost was a Japanese owned FC3S with a highflow turbo, FMIC, exhaust and tuned ROM. He thought I would be an easy kill but got royally embarassed.

There are more than a few cars than beat the monkey snot out of me over here (Dragon, Scott, Beua, Van, Taxi Scott, Bill, Jerry.... all rotor motors) but I have no desire to change because I am have a damn good time playing with my wrong wheel drive underdog.

Check this out. A tuned R33 GTR barely beat me last fall on the streets. Do you think he told his friends about that? His girl was laughing at him because he was shocked about beating me by half a car length.

There are cars that avoid me because they do not want to lose face by barely beating me since I can buy a new car for the price of their tunes. Once again... my car is the runt of the pack and I have no desire to compete with 500+rwhp rotor motors. I just want to enjoy the rush of VTEC boost.

Sidenote... myself, Dragon, Iggy and Scott have been friends since the days when we tore up the island in HONDA CRX's. Yep, those guys are Honda fans.

In that link you will see my destroyed Integra and the new beater. Rollcages and bucket seats DO prevent severe injury and/or death. You will also see Scott's FC, Igy's FD and Fergy's RB26 powered R31 Skyline. When I get the new setup on the road I merely be trying to keep the rest of the crew within my sights since I KNOW I can not compete with them.

Oh yeah... shutup and BOOST!!

Maybe you should tell them what you drive!

Let's see...a turbo Civic SI is probably putting 350-400 to the wheels; curb weight of about 2700 lbs. A Supra is putting maybe the same amount to the wheels, but weighs about 3600lbs.

The Civic (or CRX for that matter) is the perfect sleeper because no one expects it to be fast, until it spanks your ***.

This weekend at NOPI a turbo Civic SI put down 423HP to the wheels w/o nitrous. That's a mean car.
I'd like to see him race from a stop. Dyno #'s dont impress me the ability to get the power to the ground on a FF is very difficult unless, of course, your willing to drive around with slicks on your car all the time.

My friend has a 350 FWHP Eclipse he cannot break mid 13's with it because he cannot hook the thing up. From a 40 or 50 MPH roll he is leathal from a stop he is a smoke show. On the dyno he is a hero.

I'd love to know how much that dude with the 423 FWHP Civic spent getting there. How many blown engines? I would imagine he has spent well over 25K building that car. What does he do with it?? Impress everyone with big dyno #'s??

Big horsepower doesn't impress me a well balanced car that is fast everywhere, turns, straights is my idea of an awesome car.

But like W.C. Fields once said "There is an *** for every seat". [/quote]

LSDs can do a lot for cars.

I'm not saying this car was like the best car I've ever seen, I was just providing an example of a respectable Honda.

I don't drive a Honda, but I mean people have to recognize that there are some beast cars out there that just happen to be Hondas: they are ruined by tasteless people.

Rutt, I knew you'd have something to say!

I couldn't believe those vids of you smoking someone's FD...

Oh yeah... running from a roll is not fun because I can smoke lots of people that way. Launching is more fun because MOST people assume they have won and then realize that I am right beside them at the top of 2nd gear followed by getting their doors waxed with a 3rd gear shift.

Before you scream BULLSHIT ask around because Vosko saw (heard) the video when I blew past Van (stock setup running like ***) as he was yelling.. "**** **** ****, that ****** is fast!!" There was another FD rolling with us at the time so I actually smoked TWO FD's at once.

lol...you guys are funny. Rutt's Honduh is NO joke...I had all the bolt ons with stock turbos and lost our first race after he pulled up next to me(and then passed me) in 3rd gear. Yes I beat him off the line(RWD is cool)...but Honda's can be fast. Just takes some knowhow and some go fast parts.

I have been racing my CRX for a while now. Not fast, but she out handles my FD easily. Only has about 150 hp, and new shocks and springs. It drives like it is on rails. Few more things (larger sway bar and such) and I should be able to take on modified FDs in the corners. In the straights though. . . . . I am dead.

Thinking about buying a friend of mines CRX for 7 grand though. After you pull the interior out of them, weld in a cage and upgrade the suspension, they will hang with corvettes on a slightly modified engine. But, push 15psi into a built motor and they like to take them. It has been built up for the autocross, and needs a bit of work on some parts (fuel leak someplace, need more air to the engine, ect) but will easily pull top time of day with a good driver.

But, the best honda I know of locally, is the 93 civic VX with the b20 vtec swap done. Hand built his motor in his apartment, and it pushing 250 hp NA. Of course he is also missing most of the stock interior, and replaced it with lighter stuff that looks fine. Makes a good daily driver.

I know a guy with an eclipse with about the same power, still in the 13s too..
