Traceb, the car I "need" the motor for is a spare convertible I have, so its not super important, but if a good deal comes up, I would like to get the car running again so I can perhaps paint it, clean it up, and god forbid perhaps make some money for my house-buying fund, lol. Jim- youre talking about YOUR motor are you??? Im guessing perhaps the motor that came out of your car? hehe- you can test it in my other car if you want.
My friend has a 90 NA motor that he may swap into an 88 NA, but the 88 motor runs pretty well.

Yes, my motor is the one from my convertible, not the old piece of junk in my garage. I may want to get rid of it to get some money for now, and to have an excuse to go with a 93 or 3 rotor next year.

I think the turbo engine is a bit out of my means right now, basically Im looking for a decent engine to put in the other convertible, I mean it is a 1988, but I dont want to screw someone over either with a p.o.s engine. Does the engine you took out run decent? Feel free to p.m me with any details if you so desire.

ok, so what do u have for sale. series 5, 4 or turbo. I can probably get a whole car, 88, for 400 dollars with a good engine. Is the difference between a series 4 and 5, "high compression" motor so minimal that it wouldnt make that much of a difference in an NA car?

A whole car for $400 is a great deal. You could always take the motor, tranny, whatever you need, sell other parts from it, and probably get some of your money back. Or just sell the car without the motor for a couple of dollars.

The S4 motor only makes an extra 14 HP, which could be made up pretty easily. Right now it looks like my friend's 88 motor is sold.
