well, it was bound to happen eventually, I have read about racing and studied how to do it, and practiced in my old accord, but until now, never had the chance to do a real, line up drop in slam down race. it is incredibly addictive. It started out with a 99-2000 VW golf with some rims that was doing the mating dance at me (zooming ahead, dropping back, changing lanes) as luck would have it, we pulled up to a red light with nothing in front of us for at least a half a mile, me in the center lane, and him to my right, when I notice a 99 integra coming up behind me, it pulls up on my left, and starts revving, LOUD. So I hold the tach at about 4000-4500, and when the light turns I just dump the clutch, it was kind of fun feeling the back end go sideways, almost into the integra, i didn't catch any traction at all until about 6k, redlined and chirped into 2nd gear, by this time the vw was out of the picture about 3 carlengths behind me, with the integra at my rear quarter panel, after winding out 2nd the integra was even with me, passed as I shifted, I almost caught up, but he shifted, lurched, and started walking away, I shut down half way through fourth, the integra slowed down to give us a thumbs up, as the golf did a ricer flyby, the thing is, the integra is supposedly stock, but the exhuast sounded incredibly loud to me, what kind of numbers do these cars normally put out? I will have to talk to the owner of that acura soon (my friends manager) and find out if there is anything funny going on under the hood.

cool. that experience its exhilarating. I personally havent raced anything but rx7s. since i tought my car could be faster than it is. But yeah, its like a drug, once youve tried it you always want more.

Also, it would be nice to know what mods you got.

Mods, hmm, well, none, unless you count the cone filter replacing the air box, which I really don't. other than that, it is bone stock, with some oddness in the 1-2 shift, feels like the synchros aren't quite working right, maybe that is normal?
