But really.. what are the mods in the Tmepo? Is it the factory tempo engine, or a swap?
LOL, it was a cast iron 2.4L 4 banger. Now it's bored stroked polished , the cats are gutted, a cold air box added, new spark plug wires to bring more flame, and to finish things off, a 255 Walbro and a re-chipped Focus ECU. I got the ECU for cheap and it was tuned by a buddy of mine who owns a garage. Plus all the little misc. things I forget to mention or that aren't worth mentioning.

The engine is bored so much that it only has about a 1/4 of an inch between the piston chambers. The compression was 10.5:1 last time it was put together, but now I think I blew a piston and the car is really messed up suspension wise from my last race.

Guys please, I never said the car made exactly 300, nor do I believe myself that it does. It was never dynoed and only measured on those little horsepower meters like that new G-ech Pro II or something. It registered 302.6 WHP, the car felt dope and I believed it was possibly making that much power. It also isn't very heavy, the rear carpet is out and the trunk is empty, the seats are very light so it's (or was) pretty damn quick.

Cheers

so its a stroked 2.4L 4 cyl w/ a chip pretty much? I think that DYI dyno may be lying. But hey, i've never seen the car, That must be an awesome sleeper, I would spend the time to fix it

you can get 300 -320 out of those motors, We have done it at my shop

the 320hp one was running 13.4:1 compression though, it propelled a lakester at bonneville to about 205mph

I was thinking the same thing but I could build another car better with the money I'd have to put in to open the engine, fix whatever's broken, and rebuilt the entire suspension because it really can't handle the power. The biggest problem always for the car was the tranny, it just wasn't built to take the kind of abuse I could dish out. LOL

Thanks for the input Nik, where's my Ferrari ****?

I saw a TURBO V6 Sport Tempo in S.C. somewhere... Close to Myrtle beach... Few years ago.
