So I'm headed to one of my college classes today, on 283 and I see this black SS Camaro in my rearview. With a few points already on my license, and my FD insured in my name, I really wasn't in the mood to teach this guy a lesson. Well eventually he got beside me, and he was the typical meat head, buzz cut V8 type. He tried so hard to deny the urge to spank him hard, but his constant little stomps on the throaty V8 just pushed me over the edge. I looked over and he gave me a nod. I knew it was on then... We both punched the throttle at pretty much the same time, his lumbering behemoth and all its torque got the best of me for a few seconds and he got half a car length in front of me... But a 9000 rpm redline has its advantages. In fourth gear at about 7500, I shifted as fast as I could into fifth (which is a hard gear to get to fast), and reeled him in like a helpless dog. I was really surprised how fast I matched his speed and embarassed him in front of his girlfriend, as I gave his mullet wagon the ol' thumbs down as I blew by him. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif We kept at it in fifth for a about a mile and when I looked back and saw that he was behind me in my lane, 3 car lengths back, I decided to ease off a little. I pulled in the right lane, and slowed from my 140 mph sprint with him. Of course Mr. Macho had to do a fly-by, which is fine because my business with him was done and there was nothing he could do to salvage his ego..... But anyway this is where it gets really good..... I sat in the right lane and watched this guy who was obviously pissed ride everyone's asses in the left lane until they moved out of his way. Coming up on an exit which is notorious for having cops sitting on the opposite side of the bridge overpass, I slowed all the way to 55, and watched as Captain Torque continued his rampage in the passing lane. "PLEASE GOD LET THERE BE A COP" I thought to myself, as we neared the exit. As I went under the overpass, my prayers were answered as a blue and white was hauling ass down the on ramp, lights on. It may have been the greatest moment of my life as I passed him again honking, laughing, and giving him yet another well deserved thumbs down!!! HA!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

nice. that was lucky.

Nice lol.
|
OWNED!
|
Cool
You know, you can do 140 in 4th gear... |
Yeah, I know good and well she can, but ever since I got her a few weeks ago, I'm really paranoid about everything....
|
what are your mods? those things are badass, good kill
|
Ha, that's what makes it so funny. I'm bone stock, I put new iridium plugs in but that's it. My guess is that it was a bullshit camaro with SS badges. Either that or SS stands for "Super Slow". https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

Hell yah thats a badass kill.. Props to you man
|

Oh it was definitely an "SS" badge at least, a lot of body work too. He was running with Flowmasters, or a Borla exhaust and had a big gaudy Monster Tach. I really think, it was an "all show and no go, wish I had an SS but can't afford it yet" Camaro. There is a BIG problem where I live with people that do a lot of rebadging. I.E. EX civics with SI badges, wannabe "Cobra" Mustangs, and in this case, yeah prob a Z28 with SS badges. Being bone stock, I do agree that a TRUE SS would have been much faster. But I guess I will never know, unless I find him again and personally ask the guy. Hey either way, he walked away with his mullet between his legs!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif

Hey either way, he walked away with his mullet between his legs!! haha thats all that matters, and yeah here in San Antonio we have the same problem. |
true.......... whether you win by and inch or a mile..... blah blah blah

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/v2.gif I like it when v8s get a beating by an import

SS Caramo's are scary cars even stock. With a few bolt-ons you have TKT loose all over your ass.
|
mullet? i thought he had a buzz cut?
|
man thats awesome.. i hate camaro owners who think they drive the fastest thing on the road.
|
nice kill!
sounds like that guy had a shitty day huh https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif |

you must not have too many mullets in your area. It is highly possible to have both a buzz cut and a mullet. Those are the worst kind of mullets, especially when on a female.
|
female with mullet = chullet

It's really sad though. Camaros, and Stangs are never going to pull themselves out of the stereotypical Mullet crowd until their owners change.. Maybe mullets are required upon purchase, or maybe they just can't help but grow one after driving a vehicle with a redline close to a diesel... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

wow.....time to smack down some ignorance
a z28 and a ss both have the same engine. The ss has the hoodscoop that is virtually worthless and a few other badges. It makes a lot more sense just to buy a z28 for much cheaper. 93-97 camaros had the lt1 98-02 camaros had the ls1 lt1's typically run from high 13's - low 14' ls1's typically run from low 13's - high 13's BONE STOCK Conclusion - if you raced a ss fbody and drug it's nuts on the highway it had to have been an aging lt1, ls1's are absolutely sick cars. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif |

AAHHHHHHH HA HA!!! YEAH RIGHT PAL!! IT WAS SLOW!! Dude I work, at a Ford/Chevy dealership, and I'm telling you they are slow. I've driven all but an SS, and I'm not impressed. I'm not saying all domestics are slow, I'm not one of those types. A guy I work with has a Cobra and it scares the **** out of me. And don't ever stereotype a Rotary as a rice machine, it's pure technological genius!! Believe what you will too, doesn't mean **** to me....... You probably missed a few minutes of some tractor pull on tv by posting that.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/violin.gif

i actually like rx7's but the story is fkin bs, didn't really mean to call it rice but i generalize bs like that with rice

Sorry man, I don't know what to tell you then... It was a camaro, true SS or not, it had SS badges on it. We both stomped it, and the big ox couldn't take my FD. Simple as that. The point I'm making is, I DO believe it was a rebadged car. One of my friends that I was headed up to school with rides a 99 GTI VR6, he told me when we got to school that he tore the very same guy up a few weeks earlier. Granted he has a few mods, but I have beaten him too. I'm not making my RX-7 out to be the fastest thing in the world, nor am I saying Camaros are the slowest, but my car was faster than his, and I was smart enough not to drive by an onramp doin 140. Besides that, I would bet money on ANYONES FD against a Z28 anyday. Especially after that encounter!

Dude I work, at a Ford/Chevy dealership,
Don't rag on cars you don't like. SS' and Cobra's are fast cars, only in a straight line though. And for that reason, I don't like them very much. If they could handle like an FD, I'd give them a lot more props then I do now. |
