but not as slow as na fc's
ran Comitatus a few times in his rx-8
i think i kept up pretty good...
worst one was about 2 or 3 car lengths by 100mph
maybe i just got the jump and he wasnt flooring it, im not sure.
either way it was a fun time

Or as slow as NON TURBOED FDS....do the math..
255hp...Twin turboed..
~238 hp... NA..
hmm..
have you seen any numbers when you add a turbo to the rx8?
Greddy turbo... with... 6-8Psi... will put down 260-270RWHP....
So..... thats what .. almost 300hp? funny...

your comparing apples to oranges. the rew engine in the fd even with the STOCK turbos is capable of more whp than the Greddy turbo kit is on an rx8 engine, secondly if i wanted to add a turbo kit to an fd it would have a lot more than 270 whp in fact tthe Greddy T78 kit for the fd is known for pushing 450+ properly tuned however either way thats irrelevant for this discussion.
due to high compression the rx8 engine is not good for big power and every major team using "rx8's" in compoetion does a rew swap or 20b swap such as speedsource (road racing), abel ibarra (drag) and rod millen (drift) and every one of these cars is also sponsored by Mazdaspeed so what does that tell you.

Yeah, I thought you kept up VERY well. I was a lil suprised, and I was flooring it all the time, every time...Had to make up for all the leather and weight in my car!
You're car is pretty quick, I'd say.
I was pulling mostly in 3rd gear into 4th on most of the runs...i think on the worst one that your talking about I started in 2nd...which shot me out pretty quick.
Torque really falls off in the 8 around 7k, but I was taking it to 9k every time.
Definitely was a lot of fun, we shall do it again sometime, no?

yeah, i was quite shocked when we both took off that i didnt see more of the backside of your car.
i was starting out in 2nd at however fast we were going. think i only got into 4th really when we went about up to 100. again? anytime. i just thought it was cool to meet someone else around here who's on the boards.
i wanna say my coolant seals are seing their last days, blows some smoke at startup and redline, and when trying to shoot fire, as you saw haha. but we'll see. hopefully not though.
and you two up there, calm down, the thread title was joking. it was the two of us having some fun ont he highway, not battling it out for bragging rights.

nice to see an RX-7 owner who is not all about bashing the RX-8. it is a capable car in the right hands.
and IIRC, Speedsource's Grand Am ST class car, has the stock engine, the rules don't allow an engine swap. Their GT car is a different story, but it is un-reliable at best.

I pulled an 8 by a half car length (from a dead stop) a while back, cant spaek for the driver though, no offense to RX-8 drivers, but most of the ones i've encountered on the roads here are pinheads. OONe guy did acknowedge my FC though once, it was pretty cool.
