Well, since my car is still stock, performance-wise, I basically take my swings at the nearest rice, especially the Hondas. Doesn't happen often enough, though. In fact, the last impromptu stoplight drag I can remember was in my mom's 'stang auto 'vert, where I got smoked by a CRX. Sooooo... Perhaps I ought to start trying harder.

I understand setting dry ice on the tar will get it frozen to the point that it easily chips off, I tried leaving the car outside on a cold night and lining the interior with ice cubes overnight. this cold treatment made the tar slightly easier to chip off. I took most of it off with a hammer and a half inch wood chisel. It wasn't easy, and don't bother trying solvents like brake cleaner, it just made the tar gooey. Since I race the car i'm trying to get it to its legal minimum weight including the roll cage of 2380 lbs. ('79 RX-7)
