i was running a few minutes late for lunch with my GF and her family. I was already trying to juggle that and getting into work today a few minutes early baecuse i had a pretty big catering order going out, and so i was in a hurry.

i got off at the countyline road exit, and here in jackson, it is notoriously busy beacuse it houses all the major sotres and the best mall around.....well, the lind for the exit was about 3/4 of a mile from the actual exit, and i found myself sitting in the haneous line for 3 light sessions w/out moving more than a few cars.....SOOOOO, i tacked the fd up to about 5500 real qwik, and bolted out and back onto the interstate, trying to make it to the next exit, and working my way back to where i needed to be....

suddenly, i was roaring through a slight at turn at close to 130mph and i hear a siren from a sheriff's car, and him systematically pointing at me, and i guess, wanting me to pull over, judging by his arm gestures.....well, i was going wayyyy too fast to have time to react to him, and thought.....yea or nay....."YEA" i said to myself....i plugged it even harder, and was rolling hard to 150, and thankfully, there was a good bit of traffic behind me, and the officer was having trouble catching up to me and getting back onto the side of the interstate that i was on. when the road straightened out, i saw him barreling up the shoulder and by now, he was a good ways back. at this point, i am exiting the ridgeland mississippi exit, and not thinking about slowing down....after all, i had to get to lunch-wouldn't want to let the GF down now would I?

i flew through the stop, with my heart pumping, noticed that there were no cars in sight. i made the first turn off of the main road and tracked back the 4 miles through neighborhoods and 2 school zones.

i wa afraid that he was going ot have a buddy of his waiting for me somewhere around where i was, but by the time he got off of the interstate, i was a school + 3 blocks away.....i hurried, but much slower, to the mexican restaurant where i was to eat lunch....

nothing like a good run from the popo to get you going on a saturday afternoon....

you know.....
