It's not as much a thourough bred sports car as the 7. It stood no chance.
Its not sopposed to be.

This is why everybody is dissapointed about the rx8.

It is NOT an rx-7, nor was it ment to compare to the FD.

They are very different cars. My feeling is that mazda will have something out for the more *sports car* minded people soon enough.

238 horses dont seem that bad for an n/a ...wait for them to make turbo kits for them ...rotaries have ALOT of potential with turbos..which is good...

Mazda compared the 8 to the 7 first. We have all seen the videos of the 8 chasing the 7 on Mazdas test track. Mazda first published HP rating right there where the FD's were. They bragged about getting nearly the same HP out of a non-boosted car. So Mazda asked for it when they were the first to compare the 2.

s13srmadness - you have giant ***** posting up an RX-8 kill on no pistons. I asked the mods to move your post because I thought it was in bad taste and was purely here to instigate a flame war.

This is Mazdas first offering of the new generation of rotary cars. I think they went conservative on purpose to prove that a rotary powered car can be very reliable. After the reputation they got from the FD's they needed to build a bulletproof car and I think that is what they did.

Mazda never intented for this car to be a supercar. Judge Ito ran a 14.5 in the 1/4 that is right where Mustangs are. My Mustang would run a 14.4. So I guess Ford built a slow car too with the Mustang.

Please define "Near stock". You obviously have a turbo upgrade I would imagine you have intake and exhaust work too.

Yay for you and beating a bone stock RX-8 you must feel superior now.

I am gonna go out and whip up on a stock Maxima and post it on a Maxima forum.

I'll do it with my Near Stock RX-7.

You have a modded car, and your bragging about beating a bone stock car?? (if your turbo has been worked over your car is not near stock btw, near stock is like a cat back and a boost controller)

There are some mildly modded rx7's that walk away from new corvettes, yet do any of us go to corvette forums bragging?? Why?? I have better things to do with my time.

It is entertaining to see people starving for attention tho. I clicked on your thread so I guess your happy.

Your right. The NEW RX7 should be out in 2005. They are testing different motors to put in it, including an all motor 3 rotor, which makes 320 stock, a Boosted 3 rotor, and an N/A 4 rotor. also a twin turbo 13B renesis. The picture I saw in Car top Magazine, had a New orange FE RX7 with 3 rotor written on the side. I can't wait to see how this all unfolds. doesn't matter which engine it brings, I want it!!!!!
