I was driving north on the NJ Parkway coming back from Philly at around 2:00am when I spot a Red Miata with quad exhaust and a huge *** rear wing. The quad exhaust made me curious so i try to get alongside it after the toll booth, going about 65mph. As soon as he sees me pulling up next to him, he jets it and he's way off.



Within 2 secs he's like five to six car lengths ahead of me. I'm totally stunned, the little roadster is killing my auto FD at at least 95mph. I finally start catching up with him at around 120mph and finally pass him. That took about 5 miles (including the length where he was killing me) just to pass him, but i think he just got bored with me and figured i wasn't worth the effort.



What exactly do u have to put into a MX-5 to beat a slightly modded FD? The only performance mods I have and Apexi air filter, large intercooler and N2 exhausts, the rest are mainly maintance mods.



Either way i don't feel too bad about the lose, he must've spend alot more time and money on his Miata than I did on my RX (which is saying alot), so he deserves it..........

 

they sell supercharger and turbo kits for miatas........ im surprised you guys didnt go any faster

 

The miata is a very under-rated car, since its basically in the shadow of the RX-7. However, with some tuning and weight reduction they are extremely fast and are known for their good handling. Don't feel bad about the loss!

 

I hardly ever see a miata around here basiclly just Mustangs,Vettes,Camaros,Neon RTs and a handfull of DSMs.Who knows he may of had a rotor engine in that mugg.Are you pretty much stock?

 

they make kits where you drop 350's into them.....did it sounds like a miata or a mustang?

Wish I could ****ing fit in a Miata. Do they make roof raising or seat lowering mods?

 

SOme guys push 300 at the flywheels with tubos kit on them and I there is twin turbo setup outthere but I am not sure of the name. This past weekend we went to mazda dealer who had an autoshow for the Rx8 and their were few Miata with turbo kit on them and the they even have FMIC too. The cars only weight in @2300 pounds I think. Khris

 

OR! Maybe it is because you are driving an Automatic Lanny had a **** load of stuff done to his car but the auto tranny really doesnt take well to mods from what I hear. Even though his car was modded he still couldnt hit 13's.
