Last night, I was cruising around with my buddy Nick; we were really bored and looking for something to do in my boring town. As we pull up to a stop light heading out of town, we see this grey Civic next to me, probably an LX or something, with a fire extinguisher on his passenger side A-pillar. He's sitting there bumping his booty bass rap, and I start to rev my engine. He looks ever and gives me the thumbs up, so I figure its on. Wait another minute or so, the light turns green, and I launch hard. I immediately take about four car lengths on this dude, my bud and I don't even think he was trying, so I shut down. Of course, as ricers are fond of doing, he tries to pull a fly-by. Not happening; I shift from fourth back to second and take off again. A little way up the road, I turn off and he follows me, still trying to pull on me. I just lightly keep ahead of him and take off out of town.



Well, once I get a half-assed kill like that, I just get blue-***** for a real one. We drive back into town, past the Safeway parking lot where all the ricers hang out. Nick says we should pull in and challenge someone, so I figure we can give it a shot. I pull around on a side street and drive back to the parking lot. As I pull in, these young black girls that were walking by say "Tight ride!" Turns out there was another RX-7 in the lot, so I pull up to him and start talking to him. Turns out he has an Atkins street-ported motor along with some other mods. He compliments my car on how clean and nice it looks, and some other folks walk up and join the conversation. Turns out, most of these ricers know what's up with the RX-7, and also compliment my ride. I ask around on who has what mods, etc. Seems there's a Civic with a supercharger, but most of the other cars are stock (performance-wise, that is). I told the guys in the RX-7 that I was looking for a race, and they told me some dick in a Geo Storm had been around earlier, fronting like he could kick some ***. They said that I could probably run him for money if he came back. Sure enough, as we were talking, he shows up, along with the dude in the Civic that I'd "killed." I go ahead and pull up to the Geo Storm dude and ask him what's up. He says not much. I tell him I'd heard he'd been looking for someone to run against. He asks me what I'm running, and I tell him its just a stock 1.3 liter. He asks what kind of car; I tell him its an RX-7. He looks kinda stunned and says, "That has a rotary, right?" I tell him he's right, and he says that he doesn't want to race. He says rotary engines kick everyone's ***! I say, "Well its stock, and 1.3 liter is the same size as a Metro's engine." He just shakes his head and drives off.



I figure I should go there more often. Those guys were totally boosting my ego; even though I only have an NA motor, they still thought I was the ****.

Sweeet! I was kinda hoping the story would come back around to the fine Black chicks

You know, if the guy in the Geo thinks that much of rotaries, why doesn't he just buy an old one for cheap and **** can his **** can? Just a thought, and maybe it wouldn't be so cool if he was representing the RX-7 crowd anyways.

I think if the story had come back to those girls, I would have spent some time in the pokey. They looked about 15 or so.



Yeah, don't ask me to explain the Storm guy. The sort of mentality held by the riceboys is incomprehensible to me. When I told some of the guys there how many miles were on the car when I bought it, they asked me how much it cost. They totally thought I was bullshitting when I told them 4 grand. Funny thing is, I am not lying at all. I got a hell of a deal for the sort of car I picked up. Any of those guys could do the same, but they think that all they can afford is crap, I guess.

Right on! Last night I had a guy thinking he could beet the AE with a 01 GS-R. I almost drove home to get it so I could kick his ***, but the brake master cylinder is toast. But hey, you don't need brakes to race, right? <_<
