killed a c6 vet
#1
hello all,
i was just reminded of a kill i had with my fc/re . i was on my way home from work at the mazda dealer , i just happend to have half assed tuned the rx7 the weekend before so i was being a bit carefull not to beat on it too much as the motor was freash. as luck would have it the chevy dealer down the street from my shop just got a shipment of c-6 vets in and someone was on a test drive. the sales man and i guess the potencial buyer where sitting at a stop light as i rolled up, just had come off of boost and the type r bov emitted a rather loud air rush that caught the attention of the c-6 driver. i stopped next to them and the salesman leaned over said something to the driver and the next thing i heard was a throaty v-8 reving. hmmmmm ok i think yall wanna play , ok ill play. i revved back at them the turbo built 2psi on a free rev and again the loud bov sound aswell as the big turbo whine as it slows down. the driver laughed at me the sales man looked as if he was about to crap his pants and the light turns green.
well first gear i spin slightly as i even tried to slip the clutch some off the line but still spun some what. the vet got a lil fishy in the *** also. my turbo spools, hit 19psi and i pull ahead. second gear, the turbo is screaming over the 3.5 inch exhaust i couldnt hear the vet anymore but there bumper was at my door handle and im creeping ahead little by little, third gear im gone!!!!!!!!!!!! bye bye vet.
we get to the next light, the vet pulls into the turn lane the sales man flips me the bird and they pull away. i wonder if ower little race lost a sale for that ******* sales guy. o god that would be poetic hahahaha. anyways that was one of 2 kills from last sumer.

yes 19 psi, yes 3.5 inch exhaust and yes half *** tune. my temp compensation was way off and the sir temp sensor data was not set. though my a/f was a rich 11.0 the car still had some minor timming issues and would buck from time to time. the alt was interfering with the cas signal and i would get the buck and signal errors would rapidly climb.
the set up i have is a wolf 3d ver. 4.0, at the time was a mild street port cosmo re 13b with s5 rotor housings with a race port and a bearing hx51/t64 turbo.
