had some fun, my buddy bought a 94 eclipse and he wanted to see what it had, well we raced on his road and i annialated it, short story i just kept pulling on him, he may turbo charge it in a couple months, anyways we went into town and a basically stock vtec prelude with an exhaust and rims did a ricer flyby, i used to work with the guy so it was kewl, we lined up at the light i dropped the clutch at 3500 rpm as well as him and i pulled off the line but as soon as i hit second he started pulling away , not fast but not slow either? im a good driver and i know he has about 215 all motor hp but his cars weighs like 3200 lbs. or so, after 3rd gear i started to gain on him, i was only a half car length behind and then he flashed his hazard lights. should i have won in the quarter mile? my mods are listed below, ( my tires are bald as hell)............piece

the balder a tire is, the more surface area is on the ground, therefor, better grip. They only put tread on tires so water and other things can escape when the tire is over it. However, if they are cheap *** tires on the other hand, and are made from cheap *** materials, then thats when they wont grip. You need some cheapo Z-rated tires.. you can pick up generic z rated for like 110 bucks a piece.

The stock vtec prelude should run anywhere from about 15.0-15.5 with a decent driver and your seven probably runs low 16's, maybe high 15's with those mods at the track.... street racing is totally different though so who knows.
