First 350z Kill

I'm not really sure if this was even a race. I'm driving north on the parkway in my auto (yes auto) FD, and this silver 350Z starts tailing me. So i think he wants to bring it, and step on the gas and off i go, thinking that i'll find out if he means business when i hit 90mph. So i hit my target speed and he's still about 2 and a half car lengths away from me. "maybe he doesn't have an open lane to pass me" i thought, so i let him have the open lane on the left to see if he'll make his move but he just tailed me even closer.
The futherest i pulled from him was about 5 car lengths, but he always kept up. This went on for about 4 miles and my exit was coming up so i just left him and his yuppie toy. I'm still wondering if he was just toying with me or was he really scared of getting embarsassed losing to a 10 year old car.
Sorry it wasn't more decisive, but i've been itching to race a 350Z for a while and this is the closest i've gotten since most people driving the new Z's and middle aged men that are afraid to ruin something.

I got a chance to drive one (with the "Sport" package- Brembos, suspension, etc.) for a day. Disappointing power-wise. The only way it could give even a stock FD a run for its money is the FD driver is asleep at the wheel. From a stop, the 350Z is toast; the FD will kill it in the first 100 ft. However, I must admit it corners pretty well for a Winnebago...

all the 350z have the same engine and suspension regardless of models,
brakes and trim are the only difference among them. Nice thing is you get the same engine and suspension if you spend $26,000 then if you get the $34,000 track model.

the car supposidly drives amazing, speed isnt everything.
Sometimes people want a good car they can drive all day,
everyday with a warranty to go with it for when something breaks.
You can get the car for well under $30,000, not like its a life altering investment.

Don't get me wrong it don't think it's a bad car just that from everything i heard i thought the car would have been rather light to make better use of the power... i knew it handled well and that it was a 1/4 of a million dollar car...
just i guess from everything i hear and the 6 speed tranny i though it would have been a pretty good challenge to line up with one on the road..
not alot of big chalenges around here.. including the riced out saturn with intake exhaust stock internals and a NOS system
i still wouldn't mind having a 350Z nice car.. i think i'd just lighted it down B$ doin anything else if i had one
