my friend and I were heading back to my house from cartoys to install some newly purchased speakers. Me in my 94 fd, him in his 01' roush stage 2. both of our cars were fairly new to us as I had just gotten the fd, and he had owned his for approx. 2 months. So we had not gone head to head up to this point. Anyhow, we were playing follow the leader not really pushing the cars but having some fun nonetheless. After about 10 minutes on the road we come up on a white cobra mustang can't say for sure what year it was. It looked to about 98-2001.

My friend and I get in the left lane to pass as we are travelling around 80 mph and this cobra was going about 65mph. As pull around this dude he shakes his head and gives me the thumbs down, I am thinking wtf! but I continue my rate of speed and make the pass. as soon as my buddy gets next to him, the guy in the cobra rev's his engine real hard and speeds up like he wants to go. he then slams on his brakes and gets behind us.

We are forced to slow down as there is traffic in front of us and there is no way around. after about a mile the traffic starts to thin out and the old guy in the astro van in front of me pulls over and we finally have open road. I keep my car in 4th speed up to 80 and pull into the right lane to see if my friend and this dude in the cobra want to race. I hear the roush wind up and he pulls about a car length ahead as does the cobra. I turn the boost from low(6psi) to high (10psi), at this point they are at least 4-5 car lengths ahead of me with my friend in the roush pulling slightly on the cobra. Then I punch it WOT for the first time in my fd, what a rush didn't let off until I hit 138mph. gotta say it did not disappoint, kill count 2 and much respect.

FD mods: no emissions, pfc ecu, mp, dp, greddy cat back, non sequential twins, ported wastegate, greddy fmic.

 

I cant wiat until I am able to get an FD. Sweet kills!

 

you sure they didn't slow down and you just passed them at 138 ?

 

When we got to my house first thing out of my friends mouth (guy driving the roush) was, "your car is f**kin' fast!" He told me he was wot also and I pulled on him pretty hard. We were all wot and only caught me when i slowed down.

Since this race and before I took my car into pineapple racing for the large street port/ single turbo conversion we lined our cars up one more time from a stand still. It was no fluke!! Pretty equal through first gear and then I put it down on him.
