Well, heres the story I was driving down to the strip I was on Sahara. Then I see this 2 generation eclipse out of the corner of my eye. He see's me and he pulls a quick fly by. I was like wtf ok! Then we come to the light and he tries to get next to me, but there is a truck so he gets behind it. It turns green and I pull out slow, so the truck can pass and the eclipse lines up with me. He starts to speed up, so I floor it and I pull way out ahead of him. Then we pull up to another light and this time he pulls up right next to me. I started to rev and hit about 5400-5800 rpm's. We launch and he pulls about 2 car lengths ahead of me then I floor it and I start to catch up to him. We come to another light and he looks straight at me and he starts mad ******* me. So, we launch again and he starts to pull out then I drop it into second and then third I pulled about 1/2 a car length on him and I miss shift. He pulled about 4 car lengths on me, we come to another light. I am pissed off then he revs up and he launches you hear his tires squeak and I launched almost perfect and we are almost neck to neck and we are coming upon a intersection and I pull out about 1 and 1/2 car lengths ahead of him and he slows and then turns into a vons parking lot at, at least 25-35 mph. I was like what a B####.

Well only a GSX could get such a good start on you everytime. The funny thing about DSMs is that they are practically in the shop more than our rotaries. My friend had a 94 Talon that he put about $6000 in repairs on. It was just one thing after another. DSMs are junk!

They weigh a lot too, they come stock with 210hp right? That isn't much when your car weighs 3000lbs. I know he had an exhaust and a blow off valve b/c I could hear them both. Being able to keep up he must have had more then that though.

My friend's DSM sat in the shop for 6 months.
The shop RETURNED it to him after they couldn't figure out how to fix it.
That sums everything up about DSMs.
I think you raced him in a bad location...of course if it was AWD he'd take you off the line (they have crazy 60ft times) and from what it sounds like you guys weren't accelerating for very long anyway.

I know I could own the guy in a 1/4 for sure, but yea he did own me at the launch he pulled about 2-3 cars out ahead each time he was pretty quick when it came to launches. The thing is I don't know why he slowed down I think it was b/c he needed to make that turn or something.
