I beat a honda on valentines day after coming back from the barber shop. I was going to the movies with my g/f to watch final destination. He had the wing , exhaust, gauges and rims. i had a stock 7 with auto tranny and it was noooooooooooooooooo match

I hate feeling like a jackass. I was street racing a while ago (before I put the rotary in my vw bug) and I had won several modded hondas. I was feeling pretty good about myself, then this kid comes up to me and says he wants to run. I looked at his car....plain old honda civic hatch with the stock exhaust, stock steel 13 inch rims, no stickers, no tint, this thing looked stock but lowered. I was like, OK. We pull up to the line and we both launched hard. i had him by a few car lengths then he screamed by me fast enough to make me want to shat myself. I have never lost a race so bad in my life, including to a 500hp nova! I talked to him afterwards and asked what he had for an engine... Prelude engine (b22) with a 150 shot of nitrous! Open exhaust dumping in the middle of the car, no cats, header, intake with no filter.... Crap! This stupid little beater civic just blew my doors off! That was THE sleeper of all cars. Yea, I went home in awe...

I'm just going to say one thing about hondas. I have been around them my whole life with my brother who is now 26 being in the scene forever. He never owned a honda but all of his friends owned them. And let me tell you just making a B18 or B16 run when it is tuned is fairly easy. We had it at the track SMOKING new mustangs and running with all the turboed cars in the 1/8. The little honda motor are rather nice when you get to know them. We threw a drag 3 turbo kit on a CRX with a b16 and it was easily in the 12s or 11's i don't remember. But when you are talking about honda motors.. yea yea I hate hondas to but I do know a good bit about them being around them almost my whole life. You can never count them out when it comes to performance on the street. Yea they will never touch a Cobra or FD or FC turbo this I know. But built right they can achieve the right numbers.. WITHOUT touching the stock internals.
