going down broad st. late on tuesday (i have a stock 89) and two guys in an 89 honda civic hatchback with rims and a body kit flyby with the system blasting. i pulled up beside them at the next light and his buddy actually asks me straight up if i want to race. so i shrug and PARTLY joking say "if you want to call it a race" i hear "what, what??" coming from the driver who is now looking at me with a disgusted look on his face. he's got his 4 cylinders reved atleast at 6500. the green light for the intersecting street turns yellow, then red, and he's spinning like crazy. then the TURNING lanes turned green. i sat there at our light....still red, and laughed. i saw him stopped at the next red light, so i pulled up beside him and look at him a smile. he looks pissed and obviously wants to try and compensate. OUR light turns green and he spins off again. I casually pull off and catch up at 6000 rpms in first and he's out of my sight by the time i hit 5500 in second.

it was the most entertaining race all night.

Out of your sight? Must have been pretty foggy out...

a little but not all that much... my g/f has a friend with an 88 or 89 Civic... that thing gets dusted by my 2.3 Mustang! Which only runs 18.2's!!! lol Never tried in the GT.....

Though I did race a 90 model 4 door with n20. that was fun!! He just got the kit put on and thought he could hang. He juiced off the line only really got what I would call a douche fart out of his tires and slowly pulled out ahead. So I got on it ran it up to 4500 shifted into 2nd quick chirp end of race he was behind... lol damn that sux... I probably could of gone less than half throttle the whole time and fucked with him then nailed it and pulled away hard... would of been more fun but oh well....

good kill...

I had the same thing happen. 89 Civic Si pulled up beside me at a red light in town. I have a 1985 Rx7 12a with a bunch of stuff done. Kit, engine junk , and full interior, including comp. Stereo. Well any way, kid revs that 4 banger off the limiter and lets it fly. I just leave like normal and stomp on it. By the time i hit second gear I was door to door. And after that i just left him sit there. The kid said he wasn't trying later when I saw him. BUt ha I want to see you not try and spin your tires like that. O well end of story. Rx victorious again.
