I have family in the akron/medina area, but i'm only up there once a year or so, lol...

It sounds like your motor may already be cooked man... its got decent mileage on it... but if it wasnt maintained by the original owner, there is no amount of care you could have done to keep it running to 200K!

Hot start issues, bad or no idle are all signs of low compression in a motor...

Could I refresh the engine by replacing seals and such as well as apex seals? How involved would it be?

I'd just kinda like to keep the car as original as possible since it is an AE. I just need the money to get the stuff it needs done.

8.5:1 compression, 28lb flywheel, 24lb wheels, only 188hp to start with, and then to boot, 110k or whatever you said miles on engine

hell yeah its way slow, trust me. stock s4 t2s are slow as hell, heaviest wheels on an fc, heaviest flywheel on an fc, lowest compression on an fc, and then an old worn motor to boot.

turbo lag can trick you into thinking its kinda quick

rebuild the motor, get an FCD and a downpipe or a rtek and full exhaust or something.

both intake and exhaust on these cars are HUGELY restricted and you will assrape him w/ full intake/exhaust even on stock boost (although it will boostcreep) cause stock s4 wastegate blows chunks.

so have some fuel and something to get rid of fuel cut, rtek and s-afc or something

if you want to keep the car original, and get some power.

rebuild your engine, clean fuel injectors, replace fuel pulsation dampener, get a downpipe, wrap it w/ heat tape or ceramic coat it, and get a fcd and a new air filter.

it would really help a TON to get a light weight steel flywheel too

so yeah, rebuild motor, downpipe, lightweight flywheel, and just freshen up some stuff and go over the fuel system to make sure it all works and get rid of fuel cut

thats how to fix a worn out stock s4 t2

and oh yeah, get some konis and racing beat springs

still pretty stock, but really wakes the car up a ton
