Dude you really need to re-run your ruststang numbers there. I payed 15k for my 93 R1 and i put 5k into it just over the last two months. It has 400HP at the wheels and is pulling a low 11. So a 395 HP SVT costs How much Stock? what around 35-40k. That's what i thougt so i kick it's *** and am still half the price. You are smoking a lot of ****.

I always though they discontinued the rx-7 because ford bought a good chunk of mazda, and they didn't want there cobra's to be shown up.

oh mtw guys i went to the track today best i could do was a 13.2@109 with a 2.35 60' time id like to do a lot better than that but i was having a hard time with 1st and second gear traction. i guess it takes practice. heh pluss the fact im running on cracking, worn dunalops. anyone reccomend a good tire for street/strip today motivated me to buy a new set
Damn, if you can get good traction you should run some real nice times. I ran a 13.2 in my AE, but my 60' was just under 2 sec. If you can get the 60' times down I would guess you would be in the low 12's. You should pick up a pair of nitto drag radials.

I use Bridgestone Potenza S-03's and they have the most grip of any tire I've ever used/ bar slicks. I typically only run at road courses so I'm not sure how they would work for drag racing though.

Yea, I looked at a mustang magazine the other day, I think it was mustangs and fast fords or something, and they dynoed a new cobra, it says 390hp, but on the dyno I think it alot less.. can't rememer what it was though..
I was talking to a dude in Sears. We were both buying floor jacks at the same time. He had bought a 2003 Cobra. He went to the dyno once it was broken in and pulled 373 at the wheels bone stock. He did the exhaust and changed the blower pulley and then got 397 at the wheels.

Ford learned its lesson with the older Cobras. Their #'s are more conservative now.

seventymach1, 99 RS's did 12.8 with 280hp. Thats equal with a cobras 1/4. Yet it has 390hp

You don't think an FD with 300rwhp could've done that?
