Damn thread hi-jackers....

lol, Im one of those people who think NOS is ***** juice too, so Im giving this thread a good read. Nos is like putting a s-afc on your car instead of a standalone. Its a temporary solution to a bigger problem, that problem in this case being your car is slow. Would I run nos with my turbo? heh...Maybe, it depends on how bad i want to beat someone, or what im racing, id have it just for emergencies, but I wouldnt build my entire car up to support a nos system. Id have it quick on the turbo, and the nos as the LAST RESORT. ( For when that Diablo rolls up to the line) heh...

Its the cheap ez way to get what you want. But eventually it wont be enough. So instead of nos, people need to be serious and get a Supercharger or a Turbo kit.

From my perspective....you could run 800 shot all day long on your v8, it may kick my *** in the 1/4 but at the end of the day when your bottle's empty and we're leaving the track, you know im going to hunt your **** down on the highway and beat you into the ground because your power is empty...

hence I love the idea of turbo'n and supercharging your cars....but thats just me....

Have you ever personally used it on your car? If no, how can you form an opinion on it?

i agree with scathcart that nitrous is a good choice to make power and it can be reliable. i had a 75 shot on a 95 honda prelude i had before my fd. never had any problems with it and i could run side by side with my buddies modded audi s4 as with anything else you do to your car it has to be tuned properly. most of the blow ups i hear about from nitrous are from people that try to use a 150 shot on a bone stock setup or something like that. whats the difference between that and popping a motor from overboosting??

I've used nitrous before On a RSX-S, 100 shot. Its not something I WOULD do to my rotary on a regular basis, and there is no difference in that and over boosting with a turbo. I think slapping on a Turbo to SOME cars is a pretty stupid thing to do, depending if the car was boosted to begin with or not. I see plenty of civics with turbos, max 6psi. and **** like that. And for most cars, bolting on a turbo isnt going to give you the insane gains people think it will, compared to a stock turbocharged vehicle who just turns up the boost. I knew a kid put some ghey *** Turbo drag kit stage 2 or some **** on his gay prelude, ran 4.8 psi and my friends STOCK SHO walked all over it like it wasnt even there....There is a time and place for boost......And perhaps nitrous, I would just say dont rely on the NOS to carry your ***. You cant go around running your mouth about a 350hp car, when 150 of that comes outta a little blue botttle and after 4 times each night your back to 200. lol...

I Have a nos bottle in my 7, its not connected, its more of intimidation thing then anything else. I know a guy who has 2 nos bottles the size of the ones you see holding gas in welding shops in the back of his 944 Turbo, its like a 4-5ft bottle and it sticks up between the driver and passenger side seats...that to me, just seems a bit excessive....

My favorite line about nitrous comes from Apotheosis...something like "I don't use nitrous because if I did, the bottle would always be empty."

Without any intention of sounding rude, this statement prooves you don't know what you're talking about.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that you would accuse nitrous of being ***** juice, then go ahead and tell us you have it in your car only for appearances.

Is this not the definition of rice? Advertising an unusable performance upgrade? If you consider it to be such a *****'s way out, then why would you want people to think you to have it?

You seem to lack logic.

I would have to agree with you, it also goes hand in hand with putting stickers all over your car like it is sponsered or something.
