few weeks, unfortunetly for me spring time is just out of control in my business
factor in waiting for booth time, returning favors for having the car and working in my friends shop, personal, business, and home requirements and you see why somethings take a while. Work I had planned on my house since last summer, blah blah blah...
I do this because I enjoy it, but I also have a large circle of contacts and sometimes you got to pay back favors when your called upon on.
There actually isnt that much left to go, I just hope Kevin brings the car by trailer to Rotorfest.

the way things are working financially *at the moment* i may have it idling/crawling to rotorfest. it just wont have a downpipe
im sur ethe troopers wont mind haha.
we shall see, oh and we also need to figure out if i can even get it back on my trailer.

guess I have not updated this in a while
jambs are painted, color looks awesome, the quality of the DuPont Hot Hues is great, its a awesome paint to work with, laid that down over some DuPont VariPrime and cleared it in DuPont Imron 500S clear.
under the hood itself as well as the hatch is done in black DuPont Imron, hatch is black from the factory and looks best in black.
Ill get some pics of the shell of a car tomoroww before I put the doors and hatch back on
its quite a bit of work to break everything down, everytime you think you got every piece that wont get painted off the car more pop up, lol
weatherstripping, door panels, washer nozzle, clips, plugs, hatch struts, defroster wires, etc...
its alot easier to do a **** job and paint everything MAACO style

here are some pics, the camera doesnt do this color justice, outside the color really wakes up and you definitly wont see another car painted the same color as yours on cruise night.
I cannot stress how happy I am with the DuPont HotHues basecoat, it requires a activator as well as the basemaker ( or reducer ), which I like, most basecoats rely only on reducer and air to dry then must be sealed with a clear, this base uses air and chemical cure, the DuPont Imron clear layed down nice and will provide excellent clear coat protection.
It also a factory packed color, meaning you have to order it right from DuPont, the formula is not given out, the best part about that is that if the car is sold the new owner can simply call up his DuPont supplier and he will take comfort that the paint will match everytime, it leaves no room for human error in the mixing of the color, even the supplier does not know the code and cant mix the paint.
I also got to try out my new DeVilbiss SRI-W HVLP touch up gun on the jambs, I was VERY impressed with the way the gun handled, it puts out so much paint for a touch up gun and can go from a 1/8" to a 9" fan, it really handled the job well and made for very little overspray onto the adjoining panels. I will definitly be whipping out that toy again when it comes time to spray the side skirts and other small parts
