how much did it cost you to replace the tan to that color? and was it the same material?

$70 for the black carpet kit from a local auto upholstry shop

$30 for misc plasticoat paint and sandpaper



I took the interior apart, sanded all the pieces to create a porous surface, and painted several coats of plasticoat on to them. Then I applied one coat of clearcoat. scratch test with a key and reinstall. this will take you 2 or more weekends to do properly.

i think the blue on the door looks pretty good, the carpet looks kinda dirty...... but i can see that you got rid of that.....hehe

im just thinking here but what would u guys say if i was thinking about taken out my dash sanding it painting/clear coating it black doing the same to the door panels and changen fabric to something nice on the doors,,and also your going to have to do something with the hatch maybe cause dont forget the whole inside of the car is the same color?? but do u think sanding the whole dash and maken it black is something i should try,,i took apart the inside of my celica and did it black and white and i really did a good job everybody used to ask me what shop did my car up,,,it took me only a weekend but i didnt take the whole dash out,,,im thinking my 7 might be easier then the celica cause its a lot older??? but still the whollle dash isnt going to be easy???
