Back when I had my FC I used that fabric spray.

It worked pretty good, but if you spray it on too heavy at once, it makes the carpet hard.

I went from grey to black, but what I did to give it a more factory plush look, was after a coat of spray I would let it dry, then brush (hair brush not comb)the carpet. This would break up any clumps and hard spots. Then vacumed it to remove dust and gave it a respray.

You will go through a couple more cans , but the look is much nicer.

They only problem I had was that the colour did wear a bit in the dead pedal area beside the floor mat.

i dyed the door panels on my gsl-se like 3 years ago and they are still going strong

Yea painting the panels and replacing the carpet is a pretty popular modification in some circles.

I am not a big fan of painting interior panels. But someday I'll swap out my interior for some black.

how did you plan on replacing the surrounding leather? and the bottom or the sunroof ?
