If you want to go with this type of door your best be would be to buy a set of fiberglass or carbon fiber doors to use in the converison... much lighter and less stress on the door support system you will need to fabricate....

If you do have to worry about clearance in your garage, consider the look of the new Saleen race car.
It's got sort of a half lambo/half gull wing type opening. Very slick.
I'm not saying you wouldn't have to worry about hitting your support beams, I'm just saying it'd be a lil easier for you to get in and out.
