WTH? Is that a CF DOOR?! Where did you get those? And how many pennies were they, if you don't mind my asking?

Special order from J-land.. Really impressed by the finish on them, it will be awhile before I see how they fit on the car, have to do a full cage on it first... Its incredible how light they are. One finger lifting light.

They are worth more than the car they are going on unfortunately!

This FC I am doing this time is a no holds barred build, so I went all out on the parts, along with the doors, I purchased a full Tamon wide body kit, RE Gt wing,RE full cowl pro bumper, carbon fiber lip, rear diffuser kit and frp/lexan rear hatch glass kit.

I want to get the weight down to 2200-2300 lbs, target power is 500 rwhp n/a.

Shouldnt be too hard, even with the 20B(I presume from the hp number). The stock fc doors are HEAVY, same for the dash. And if youre really crazy, a tubular rear subframe would be nice too.

Sounds like a crazy fun track car!

Not sure about the weight difference between the FC and Fd's...but My 20B FD is at 2250lb right now... with the side windows and glass hatch still installed and the front brakes removed. It is tube chassis'd upfront.. I'm aiming for 2200lbs once the glass is removed and the brakes are on.

should have added the 2444 was with a 210 pound driver and full gear so the car dry weight is around 2100 with no fuel in the cell

Its going to be mainly a track car, but it will also be street driven as well.

The car has no dash, and most likely it will end up with an aluminium/carbon dash with a motec dash panel.

The engine is going to be dry sump 4 rotor pp, right now I am working on the slide valves and drivers for variable length intake. Havent narrowed down the transmission make yet, but its between the hks and saenz boxes right now.

I was thinking about the rear subframe, I would like to incorporate an rx8 diff into it, to get more gear choice. I think I am going to cut out the trans tunnel and box it in aluminum to push the motor lower and farther back.

I have had supercar envy from attending the porsche club track days, but I didn't like the body styles of alot of the exotics , the FC is my favourite rx7, so I thought why not build one to the level of some of these supercars.

Moneywise it's still pricey, but if I can get low weight ,great brakes, good traction and hi hp and have it wrapped in my favourite wrapper, I will be pretty happy.

Nice! I cant wait to see it all start coming together. Ive long had dreams of doing exactly what youre doing, but in an FD shell.

You may want to check out the ford 8.8 IRS. Huge selection of gears and LSD's, relatively inexpensive, and the design lends itself well to custom subframes.
